Rachael and I were sitting chatting about the possibility of her writing a book about her newly fresh experience as a seance attendee within the Bristol Spirit Lodge...when the 'phone rang. Although I hadn't heard from Sandy for awhile, her call came as no surprise to me and I welcomed her suggested visit.

Upon her arrival firstly the three of us chatted about Christmas and everyday matters...before I asked whether Sandy's spirit guide Joseph could help Rachael by answering some questions that would be helpful to her proposed project. Joseph is used to chatting casually with me, through Sandy, when we are sitting in the house. No change of lighting or any other alterations to the setting are required. Basically Sandy is an amazing medium and her spirit team are socially at ease here. They have also been proven to be totally trustworthy within their development over an extended period of time.

Although Sandy had not met Rachael previously it was obvious that Joseph wasn't put off by her presence and that he was willing to help as best he could. Rachael first asked why spirit guides choose a certain medium to work with. Joseph is known to have a strong interest in healing. The medium, Sandy, was seated in the open cabinet throughout the seance. Red lighting was set.

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Richard. Becca. Richard B. Kris. Pat. Lynne.

There were three new guests sitting within this evenings seance, which began with the demonstration of transfiguration phenomena. Many faces were seen, several clearly becoming presented towards various sitters. Pat recognised a face seen previously, but did not know who it was. Chris was aware of a face being presented towards Kris, but they felt uncertain of who it might be. Chris recognised her mother and spoke to her briefly in acknowledgement. The demonstration then drew to a close.

Chris raised the lighting as the spirit team came forward to chat with sitters. Graham spoke about his life whilst upon the earthplane. Arethena spoke of the jesting of the team, and the manner with which Elf comes through two mediums in unison. Elf was demonstrating this ability to the witnessing sitters, much to their amusement. This 'game' has now been demonstrated many times within the lodge and it is always fascinating to watch.

Towards the end of the seance myself, Richard B and Kris...all seated together...noticed a dense blackness form to cover 2/3 of the mediums face as she sat motionless within the cabinet. The blackness then moved back and subsequently disappeared. The medium remained motionless throughout. This visual anomally was regarded by all three sitters as unexplained phenomena.

An enjoyable evening! When the seance had drawn to a close all three guests vowed to return : )

NOTE: During the audio recording playback I noticed many creaking sounds that have never been present within other recordings. The recorder had been placed upon the table beside the cabinet through this seances as with many others here. There was no-one seated upon the two chairs placed closest to the table within this seance. In any case our sitters chairs are metal framed with padded seats and backs, and they do not creak. The cabinet chair is a Parker Knoll type and does not creak either. The medium was not herself moving very much during the seance. I therefore remain puzzled by the creaking sounds. However, I am aware that the circle (more specifically the Spirit Harmony group, with designated medium Richard) is to shortly be working with a table levitation experiment, and I am wondering whether the energy within the table is being manipulated as a result to the proposed forward plans. The Medium was seated in the open cabinet throughout the seance, with clear red lighting set to focus upon her.

Note: This evenings seance was set up with little prior notice. Chris having met with Sandy earlier in the day had explained her pending meeting with four people that had their own developing circle and were coming this evening to chat and exchange notes. Later in the day Sandy's spirit team pressed her to join this meeting...which led to this impromptu seance taking place.

At the start of the seance Chris noted that the medium's leg and foot had been positioned to shield the light from her face. This, she explained to her guests, was because the spirit team are using a blended energy form that includes elements of ectoplasm, which is light sensitive. The spirit team have previously explained that they gradually manipulate the substance to cause it to become stable within the offered lighting conditions. the substance is used to 'coat' and blend with the face of the medium in order for transfiguration phenomena to become displayed. During such demonstration the spirit team also present the physical body of the medium in a manner typically familiar of a deceased relative or friend.

The first presentation was made towards Gareth. The face and figure presented as a gentleman that had suffered breathing difficulties during the latter part of his life. Gareth had little memory of his father, and felt uncertain of his recognition....although initiated the potential connection. Janet, who was seated beside Gareth, felt an emotional link within the connection.

After these validations had been made Joseph presented himself towards Chris, who immediately recognised Sandy's handsome Native American spirit guide. Joseph spoke briefly with Chris before Graham was invited forward.

When Graham had withdrawn Joseph came forward for a few minutes before allowing Elf through. Elf is a great favourite with the regular sitters in the circle. He makes his presence known by causing the channeling medium to wave their arms and legs around with energy and apparent pleasure! Elf currently presents through two of the mediums that sit within the lodge setting....and has once briefly presented through a third.

The seance began with the medium seated in the open cabinet and red lighting set. We understand that the energy used for the demonstration of visual phenomena by the spirit team includes ectoplasm that is blended internally until the consistency is such that red lighting may be effectively used to illuminate the demonstration.

During the first part of the evening many faces (transfiguration) were displayed over the medium's own. In addition, physical movements were used, by the spirit team, to replicate the physical habits of communicators. Chris recognised several of the communicators, as did Pat. Jon also acknowledged recognition of another. The quality of the demonstration was high and at times breathtaking.

After this demonstration a period of calm was effected. During this period the ectoplasmic energy became dissipated. Chris noticed that, at this time, that Jon, Lee and Richard were all experiencing a trance state and were unconscious. This, within these conditions, is acceptable within seance here in the lodge. In fact as the 'lodge mediums' work independently for development within the same building, and also sit in support of each others development, their blending is considered beneficial to the cause. Basically, we feel that if spirit are controlling their state of trance then spirit knows what they are doing! NOTE: This is entirely different to a sitter deciding to sit in meditation mode within a physical seance, which is a behaviour not permitted here.

Today we held a seance for members of Sandy's family. Prior to the event Sandy felt uncertain whether she would enable connections to be made, or whether deceased family members might appear so similar to herself, due to connected family features, that no recognition would be made. Also two of the sitters had never sat in seance before, so neither she nor Chris could make a judegement on how they might react within the environment.

Many faces appeared clearly presented throughout the hour-long seance. Many of the facial presentations were accompanied by the altering of the medium's physical seated position...in order to present in a manner familiarly recognised by those watching. Although most spirit visitors were family members, not all the spirit people were known to the medium, they were friends of sitters, and relatives long passed.

After the seance Chris recorded the chat shared around the table. These clips demonstrate that, far from being upset or fazed by the seance environment, all three family sitters were relaxed and delighted with the experience.

The seance was held in red lighting conditions, with the medium seated in the open cabinet. Many and various spirit faces became presented through transfiguration phenomena, Chris's mother was particularly clearly seen and recognised. During the seance too a single knock, evidential of spiritual manipulation of energy, was clearly heard by both Chris and Pat.

Throughout this evening both Richard and Lee experienced deep trance control along with the designated medium Sandy. Towards the end of the seance much amusement was shared when one Sandy's spirit team, Elf, presented through Richard as well as through herself. Elf, being of mischievous nature, found it particularly funny to have both medium's sitting, side by side, each presenting with pointed toes and with arms and legs waving, as is his habit! Seances are great fun!

This evening's seance was set in red lighting conditions with the medium seated in the open cabinet. As the evening began Chris was sitting beside Lee when her guide, FC, suggested that she move away from him. Lee is a developing Medium, usually sitting for development on Wednesday evenings alongside Richard....with Chris as circle leader. Chris, due to FC's indication, then sat watching both Lee and Sandy (in the cabinet). Around this time FC also asked for the red light on the ceiling to be put on (previously just the floor lamp was lit)....as usual, Chris followed this guidance, setting the light to glow steadily. Shortly afterwards the red light on the ceiling in the centre of the room flickered, she adjusted the switch til it was again steady. However, FC asked that she leave the light alone at this point, and after a moment the flickering started up again, and continued for 3 minutes before stablising. There is no doubt in our minds that the flickering was not caused by an electrical fault. The lightbulb did not blow and neither the CD player nor the floor lamp were affected.

As the seance progressed transfiguration phenomena became effetced. Chris recognised her mother's face overlaying that of the Medium. Later on her mother presented again more clearly. Meanwhile though Dave's elder sister Joan came forward. In life Joan had lost her foot as a result of infection. Accompanying the facial presentation (transfiguration) the Medium gave clear indication towards her foot, validating the visual presentation. Syd, Joan and Dave's brother, often comes forward in seances held within the lodge, in fact he's regarded now as a regular communicator. As a 'test' Dave asked Joan is she could give a sign to indicate that she knows how Syd presents when he comes through. Syd always 'straightens his tie' when he presents. Sure enough, Joan's hand (control of the medium's hand) went to her neck, just as Syd's does!

Iris, a relative of Pam's also came forward briefly, she being recognised firstly by Dave and then by Pam herself. Interestingly...this evening's seance followed the day of Iris's funeral. Iris gave reassurance that she was fine.

For Chris the best was yet to come. She asked the spirit team to explain how the light and the knocking were enabled. This recording is unedited, so please allow for the pauses within it as the spirit team settle and prepare to respond to her questions. FC also communicated with Chris throughout. Incidentally the knocking sounds heard on this recording are due to the constant movement of the Medium, as the predominent communicating entity, Elf, requires constant movement.

For those without audio....the gist of this communication is that Lee has an intelligent spirit guide with him, who, supported by the established spirit team ( working through Sandy), together enabled the phenomena to become demonstrated. As the communication continued some discussion took place, and a decision was made for the spirit team to work in support of Lee's development, with Lee seated in the cabinet and this evening's Medium to be seated opposite him. This set up will now be trialled.

A really interesting seance, with much to look forward to.

NOTE: Chris has recently been told by FC that several knocks have been fasciliated by various spirit teams sitting regularly within the lodge. As her hearing is (medically) inefficient several of these sounds have been overlooked, or have been heard but unconfirmed as being spirit-enabled. Consequent of this, two weeks ago, FC told Chris to sit alone in the lodge, in the early hours of the morning, before passing traffic can distract her...so that the spirit's can make sounds that she will hear, recognise and acknowledge. Since being told to do this Chris has had a heavy cold and been unable to sit. FC is now happy that Chris has finally heard a knock and acknowledges it as being spirit enabled.

April 13th

Clear red light conditions... with two lamps used. The Medium seated within the open cabinet.

Before the seance began the spirit team's presence was apparent. Chris couldn't say the opening prayer until they had stopped behaving like a wagon load of monkeys. When she told them firmly that she was trying to run a seance and asked them to behave like dead people...they giggled like children, and only settled down after she'd practically shouted her way through the opening prayer!

When the fun element had calmed down the spirit team got to work blending energy, which became clearly seen as 'fizz' around the medium...who seemed to physically blend with the area around her....the 'edges' of her body seeming to be 'missing' as she became as one with her surroundings (within the open cabinet).
Chris was caused to understand that the team were trying to lift the Medium during this experimental period
This demonstration lasted for about 25 minutes.

After this, the type of energy blend became changed and Chris noticed an ectoplasmic 'blur' around the Medium's mouth and nose. The spirit team then displayed a couple of different faces (transfiguration phenomena) towards sitters. There was a visitor for Richard (who refused to tell us who his visitor was). Syann recognised her paternal grandfather. Chris recognised Mike (the Medium's brother). A few other faces were seen, but their identity remained unconfirmed.

Finally as the energy waned John was seen briefly before Elf came through for a short chat, followed by Joseph and finally Graham.

In all a fun-filled seance, with some serious developmental work being attempted also.

Witness Report. Spirit Space.Wednesday 13th April

As with the previous evenings Séance, there was an opportunity to meet the Medium (Sandi) shortly before going through to the Lodge. I think the best description of Sandi would be a ‘delicate flower’. As with Jerry, she is very quietly spoken and reserved, polite and calm in composure. And she also has in common with Jerry that they could be anyone you’d meet in the street. There is nothing unusual or outstanding (meant in the nicest way!) about either of them.

The Séance began in the same way as the previous evening, with the same procedures followed, with the exception that one of Sandi’s regular Spirit communicators, part of her Spirit team, Elf, presented himself almost the second she sat down in the Cabinet chair, before the opening prayer or music had begun. And again, it is hard to find the words to adequately describe the scene that followed!

Elf, as he is affectionately known as by the regular sitters loves to move around! Maybe it’s the novelty of having some degree of human form again, or maybe he loves to simply show off the fact that he can move Sandi’s limbs around, who knows, but it is an understatement to say that he cannot, or does not want to sit still in the Cabinet chair for even a second! Sandi’s arms and legs were moved in all directions, all at once, as Elf playfully mocked Chris as she opened the Séance, to the extent that all sitters couldn’t help but laugh. Elfs playful nature, although possibly frustrating for the Spirit team (and Sandi!) is infectious!

When the shenanigans were over, the energy felt changed in the room. Sandis team seem to work differently with her than Jerry’s Spirit team do with him. It was quite clear that Sandis team were trying to physically lift her from her chair, later confirmed by Elf, who was apparently working behind the scenes. This did not come as a surprise given the degree of control he has over her physical body. Several lifting attempts were made, and at times her all but her lower torso remained on the Cabinet chair, with her legs and arms raised, and her upper torso, neck and head extended upwards.

As with Jerrys session the night before, several faces were presented throughout the séance and I could see that the energy around Sandis face seemed different to that of Jerry. This was shortly confirmed as ectoplasm. During this time, Sandi was slumped in the chair, largely back from the glow of the red light. Despite this, the faces that presented seemed to have a luminescent quality to them that made them very bright. What I saw could be compared to a solid 3D holographic image, but clearer!

There were several faces presented, and once again, I can confirm that I saw, without any doubt my Paternal Grandfather. His face had expression and movement. He presented for what seemed a long time in comparison to other visiting faces, remaining for several minutes. I thanked him for the roses that I have ‘smelt’ over the years (I’m clairsentient also) and he acknowledged my thanks with a thumbs up – lovely.

The Séance closed in the same way that Jerry’s had, and again, we retired back to Chris dining table, for more tea, cakes and discussion.

Jack and Rosie attended this evening's seance as part of Jack's investigation into trance mediumship.

The evening proceeded much as usual, with many faces becoming presented, each clearly seen to cover the vessel's own. After this demonstration communication took place. Graham, Elf and Joseph, who are all part of the regular spirit team came forward for a social chat with sitters.

As always this seance was enjoyed by all.

Physical Medium: Sandy

The seance was set with the medium seated in the open cabinet in clear red lighting conditions.

For the first 45 minutes transfiguration phenomena was displayed, with many different faces being presented. Amongst others, Chris's mum made an appearance, being recognised by Chris and Pat.

Also during this time it was noticed by Chris and by Lee that the cushion that is kept between the legs of the chair (it is a solid and firm square cushion that fits neatly into this space and is not easily moved from its position) had moved sideways by about 5 inches. The spirit team later acknowledged that they did in fact move this. In fact...they must have done...none of the sitters moved it, and as the medium was seated cross legged upon the chair she could not have moved it herself either.

After this demonstration Elf and then Graham, both regular spirit communicators, came forward for a chat with sitters and much laughter was shared.

Sandy sat last week for the first time following an extended break from regular sitting. The visual phenomena presented on that occasion was clearly evidential, as was this evening’s demonstration.

At the beginning of the séance the spirit team were presented with an uninvited guest (decribed by the spirit team as an entity) who was promptly rebuffed. When the spirit team were settled following this episode FC (Chris’s guide) suggested that the red ceiling light was switched on…this adjustment agreed, the ceiling lighting added to that offered by the red hooded light already placed upon the floor. Therefore in clear red lighting conditions sitters Chris, Richard, Margaret, Dave and Pam saw Joseph’s facial features and torso build steadily before their eyes. Mike, the Medium’s brother, came through also.. his face, as often presented, was clearly seen.

As Elf withdrew Graham came forward. He began by explaining that Elf, a member of the spirit team, was continuing to remove the bedcovers from the Medium. This has been commented upon previously.

Note: During the week Sandy had e-mailed Chris to report that a key, kept along with others upon her standard coiled metal circular key ring had been found loose in her pocket...the other keys remaining on the ring. Sandy had attended Warren Caylor’s séance, held within the lodge last Saturday, and she knew she had been sitting in spirit-induced trance state for most of that evening...feeling that her own team were watching what was occurring within the lodge. The key, seeming to ‘remove itself’ from the key ring led us to suspect that her team, through watching Warren, may have learned a new trick! This sort of thing, as obscure as it seems, has happened before…indicating to us that the various spirit teams learn from each other. With this in mind Chris asked Graham whether they had been responsible for the removal of the key from Sandy’s key ring. A friendly argument resulted, this being typical of others enjoyed within the informal social atmosphere of the séances held within the lodge!

A recent new member of the spirit team then displayed her face to the sitters. Chris, seeing the clearly presented female face, asked if the presentation was indeed that of the new team member. She then asked for this ladies name, and as the lady appeared unable to speak (we find that, often, those who present their faces are seldom able to talk at the same time)…she wrote her name in sign language, which was misunderstood. After much laughter sitters gave up trying! Joseph, giggling, referred to Chris’s expanding waistline! Later, after séance, Sandy told sitters that the lady’s given name was Rosie…and that she has a round face and round body!

Towards the end of the séance Pop’s facial features were recognised…he being the Medium’s father and known to Chris in life. Chris spoke to him, assuring him that his wife is fine. Pop attempted to respond but was unable to do so on this occasion. It is felt that Pop visited on this occasion because his wife is about to leave the home she shared with her husband for many years…and is moving into a more modern property which will be easier for her to manage. http://www.box.net/shared/e12qdhs52b

Sitters and witnesses: Chris, Lynne, Margaret, Dave, Pam, Lee and Joanne.

The presence of the spirit team was apparent before the start of the seance, when the opening prayer was read. Some adjustment of lighting was made, upon FC's guidance and the spirit teams approval, during the first song. Faces began to appear lightly, each flitting briefly across the vessel's own, before gradually becoming stable. The first clear, but brief, presentation was of a new team member, who through this presentation introduced herself to Chris (circle leader). This brief introduction made, Joseph presented with clarity...his presentation being that of a Native American, seated, holding what we believe to be called a medicine stick, and smoking a peace pipe. Lee, who was a guest sitter and had not sat in seance before, and had not known what to expect, afterwards said that the face of Joseph was astonishingly clear and, throughout the seance he continued to be similary amazed by what he saw.

Later within the seance Angela, a friend of Lynne's came forward to be seen.

Chris's mother, herself stubbornly presenting until Chris (ever sceptical) acknowled her reality. This lady appeared, presenting as younger than at the time she passed, and being recognisable with facial features similar to that of her daughter...Chris's sister. The mother and daughter looking very much alike in life. This lady was seated with her pet poodle, Toby, upon her lap. Incidentally, Toby passed shortly after Chris's mother.

Mike appeared briefly. He acknowledged his suffering from asthma, with reference to Lee suffering likewise.

Numerous other facial presentations were seen, few recognised, but each clearyl presented, some briefly, some with more stablity. A second brief appearance from the new team member, a female whose name we do not yet know. Brief presentations too from Arethana and John, Elf and Bernard.

Later in the evening Joseph chatted a little. Graham came forward to speak more fully, describing his experience of life to the two guest sitters, and causing much humour to become shared by everyone.

The first seance for the new year proved to be an interesting one.

On this occasion the red lighting was set, with the medium seated within the open cabinet. Chris and Jon being witnesses alongside a new guest sitter, Jock.

Several faces were winessed and their aspects confirmed and validated between Jon and Jock. Chris recognised (visually) the presence of regular communicators Joseph, Elf and just briefly Bernard and John...all members of the spirit team. Mike (the medium's brother) came forward also, showing his face towards sitters, as did Joseph. Other faces flickered across the vessels own with a few remaining sufficiently stable for the visions to be validated by two witnesses.

During the seance Joseph communicated with sitters in a lighthearted manner. He also turned with some seriousness towards Chris to explain the needs and requirements for progress to be made by the spirit team.

Many of those taking an on-going interest in the Circle will know that this medium has been unable to sit for development within the lodge for well over a year now. This has been due to on-going family commitments. There seems no end to this, as is often the case within our earth-life experience one challenge follows another as time passes. Joseph told Chris that the team wished to sit with some regularity again, and that this should be within a stable group, as used to be the case when they were sitting for development on a regular basis.

An interesting seance, if less active than is usually the case.

NOTE: Despite the wishes of her spirit team, Sandy is clearly unable to commit to sitting for further development in the near future. Meanwhile we shall sit as and when opportunities arise. Chris Di Nucci

I feel it important to record every detail of the seance, as the set up might prove to be critical for the enablement of the phenomena that has been demonstrated.

The seance room was set up as usual for one set for Sandy's mediumship. Basically we played her most familiar chosen CD. The lighting was set with the red ceiling light set at about half-way to its full brightness (there is a 25 watt bulb in the holder). The floor light, set withg a similar bulb, but at full setting, had a hood placed upon it, which was, for most of the evening directed towards the cabinet area, where Sandy sat in a chair with the curtains open. Pat and Chris were the witnessing sitters, these seated side by side to the 'central' left of the cabinet. Tracy, in deep trance throughout the seance, was seated on the third chair away from the cabinet to the right side of it.

The seance began with the regular spirit team indicating their presence...the various team members displaying familiarly recognsied indications of their presence. When the routine mutual welcomes had been exchanged the medium's seat cushion was ejected into the room, to land about a foot away from the chair. This was kicked into what appeared to be a 'certain position'. This has never happened before, so we didn't know why. We later learned that it had been positioned at the 'right' position for the lighting to be most effective for further demonstration, but at a distance from the light that was safe for the energy being used with this Medium.

Next...through the manipulation of her physical body and available energy within the lodge enabled the two witnesses, who were seated, at first,about 4ft away from the demonstration, to see a seated soldier holding a rifle on his knee, 'his' face changing rapidly to present many. As the flow of faces slowed one soldier presented with a hand gun. The the final presentation being of a bomb blast, with the 'dead' body falling to the side in a spirit-controlled movement, in all presenting the harsh realities of war. The tableau was simply amazingly.

After a short pause, the Medium, Sandy, was caused through the physical control of her spirit team, to move forward, to effectively use the floor cushion. In this position she demonstated the visual presentation of a firmly formed figure of a Native American, his firmly carved facial features being so 'real' that it caused both sitters to gasp with amazement. He sat about 3ft from the two witnesses and was, within the red lighting conditions, as clearly seen by Chris as was the second witness seated beside her. Both were effectively equally real and solid in appearance. We knew the Indian to be Sandy's main guide, known to us all as Joseph. Joseph 'died' as a young man, but chooses to present now as a mature healer, or medicine man. His ability to heal has become developed since being within the spirit world.

Finally, again within this same seance, the Medium's position became changed. She sat more securely back within the chair, although leaned forward into the light so as to be seen clearly. On leg was slightly rested upon the floor cushion, in a mode typical of the elderly. The face of the Medium became gradually changed, as if some artistry was being prefected by those spirits involved in the work being demonstrated. At first, the face appeared to myself to be that of an elderly lady. In fact it was a face that I have seen in seance conditions several times over the past twelve months. However, on this occasion the lips became thinned, and the smile genuine, and the general calm expression, typical of my mother was seen.

The facial features, and the way she was seated within the chair, resulted in the presentation being so 'spot on' that my natural inclination was to think "No Way!" Even having sat in seance so many times, I cannot help but 'test the ground'. The spirit teams within the lodge know this and have often said that I am the most difficult person to convince, despite my having total trust and total belief in this work. I therefore now asked whether my mother's poodles were with her, and I received an indication that there was only one. So I asked whether this was the black poodle or the orange one. I received the response, through Joseph by then, as my mother's features had faded upon my recognition and acknowledgement of her presence. Joseph told me that the poodle was white.

My mother's poodle, the last one she owned, that had 'died' shortly after herself, was white, although with age had orange stains around its eyes. I am now searching through our collection of family photos for one of my mother sitting in her arm chair holding this animal on her lap...a pose only too familiar to me. Sandy never met my mother and the described pose would have been unknown to her. I have no photos of my mother on display in my home, and should I have, by some chance, shown Sandy a photo of her, it would most likely have been one of her within a party gathering or similar.

FURTHER REPORT by Pat Kooiman

Report of seance 17th November.

Present : Chris -circle leader, Sandy- medium, Tracey -medium and myself -Pat.
Two lights on -one ceiling red light and one also on the floor- both not too dim.

As we entered the lodge for the seance Sandy was already behaving as one of her team, Joseph behaves. He died young although we believe he has since matured into a physician (Medicine Man). He presented as a young person and sat in the cabinet for the seance. Tracey, who is also a medium, sat in the far corner and throughout the seance appeared to be completely ’out of it’.

After some minutes Joseph became still and not there anymore. Sandy was quiet for some minutes then appeared to sit up very straight in the posture of a soldier -several different faces appeared across her face- not speaking and again after a few minutes she flopped back in the chair as if asleep or even dead. Chris at this point asked the spirits to leave Sandy which they did.

Joseph then returned and appeared restless in the chair then he kicked off the cushion on to the floor in front of the cabinet between Sandy and the red floor light. She then came out of the cabinet -I couldn’t be sure of why or what drove her to do it - and knelt on the floor on her left knee. The red light now was lighting the top of her head and the floor light almost underneath her. Her face then transformed into the face of an older man with very clear features-just as if he was there with us. He then faded back and Chris and I were aware of a change in the visual sight of Sandy.

Her whole top half of her body was transposing as we watched and gradually the features and posture of an elderly lady sitting appeared getting clearer by the second, eventually settling in a position looking towards Chris with a half smile on her face. Unmistakeable to me -it was Chris’s Mum who I knew well, who passed on several years ago.

Chris said hello to her and asked if she still had her poodle. The presentation wasn’t able to speak -Joseph later told Chris that she does. After some minutes she faded back and Sandy returned to the chair in the cabinet. Chris then addressed Tracey, who was still not with us and had a few words with one of her spirit visitors, Red. When Tracy was ok Chris then brought the seance to an end.

Personally I don’t think I have ever seen anything so amazing and incredible- I must add that I have spent the last 6 days trying to describe the visions we saw that evening and no words can express the amazement and incredulity I felt. It was simply gobsmacking to see Chris's Mum! All of it was incredible!

The evening began with the spirit team working to develop the levitation of the Medium. During this time there were subtle and unexplainable physical movement taking place. For quite some time the vessel appeared to be supported by invisible forces...but nevertheless remained in contact with her chair.

Following this demonstration various members of the spirit team came forward to make their presence known. Joseph, Bernard and Elf were the main communicators...with brief visits also from Mike and John.

During the evening the energy within the lodge was enjoyed for its own sake. As usual within seance conditions here, sitters experienced a sense of deep relaxation and all welcomed the break from the cares felt within 'outside world'.

April 15th

The seance began as usual and proceeded similarly to Monday's. During the first part of the evening the medium's hands appeared moved, without any actual process of movement being seen by close-watching witnesses. The spirit team then attempted to levitate the medium, with some limited success. This was followed by a demonstration of transfiguration, with masks (we simply call them 'faces') being clearly seen by all witnesses present. One of the 'faces' presented along with physical changes towards a guest sitter, David. The presentation was of an elderly lady. Unfortunately David did not recognise her. As David has been invited to join the Spirit Chamber circle it is hoped that this lady will be more successful next time she visits.

The evening proceeded with a further attempt at levitation by the spirit team, before a variety of recognised spirit visitors came forward. It was good to see Mike again. It was interesting to chat with Albert too, who sat gently smoking his pipe.

Once again an enjoyable evening.

This seance had been set by popular demand. Sandy has taken a break from regular sitting, but sits occasionally upon request. Her spirit team continues to work with her outside of seance conditions and often come forward to chat with Chris when she and Sandy meet socially during the week.

This evening a guest sitter, Maria, attended the seance. Maria has not sat in seance before and although her father is a regular sitter at seances held within the lodge, she had formed no prior expectations, preferring to find out for herself. Interestingly, on this occasion two other guests had been invited to attend the seance, but at the last minute 'phoned to cancel, largely as a result of apprehension. Such fears, being based upon the unknown, rather than upon a reality of experience, are irrational. We hope that their growing interest in mediumship eventually enables them to overcome their concerns, and at that time they will be very welcome to come along to sit with us.

This seance was held in red lighting conditions throughout.   75 minute seance.

Transfiguration medium: Sandy

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Maria. Margaret. Pam. Dave. Lynne.

The seance began as usual, with the spirit team working to develop the skills necessary to levitate the medium. This experiment has been trialled for quite some time now. Sometimes the levitation appears to be close to achievement, and at others it appears to be a fruitless exercise. This evening the medium's body was raised to the extent that she appeared largely unsupported by the chair in which she was seated.  Her feet, hands and arms became moved without any movement witnessed by those who watched closely for this. In all this experiment was both extremely interesting fascinating. Maria, who sat beside Chris, seemed particularly focussed upon what was being demonstrated by the spirit team.

After about twenty minutes the spirit team set aside the levitation experiment and worked instead upon transfiguration. By this time Chris had noted that the medium's mouth had became sealed, as it does when the spirit team works with her within both the levitation and transfiguration demonstrations. We have been told by the team that they are working with ectoplasm within the body of the medium, their intent being to eventually develop an independent voice channel, such as will enable them to speak with their own voices, rather than using the voice of the vessel. Time will tell whether this becomes seccessful. It is very clear that the spirit team, much like the rest of us, are working and learning as they go along.

The transfiguration of the medium was excellent. Full-figure bodies were seen clearly by most sitters. The changing faces were seen by all. Some of the facial presentations offered were of spirit visitors, whilst others were simply appearing as a result alterations within the experimental process. One spirit visitor, displaying her facial features and forming the medium's leg to present a disfigured foot and twisted ankle presented themselves towards Lynne, who recognised the figure as being that of Angela, an old school friend who had passed several years ago.

After this experimental work the spirit team indicated their availablity to communicate, although, until the medium's mouth became released they were unable to talk through her, so Joseph (the medium's chief guide) made hand gestures to indicate his impatience!   Finally, when all was settled, the first communicator was Graham. Graham had been an undertaker in the wild west. Whilst he spoke, Dave explained this to Maria. This ten minute recording is an example of the way that many of the familiar spirit visitors interact with the regular sitters within the lodge. The environment is one of relaxation and social communication.

After Graham's communication Bernard came through. Upon the earth plane Bernard had taken part in war time attrocities in Germany. He has been communicating within the lodge for a couple of years now, and his progress since passing has been followed by the sitters with interest. His presence has not been so apparent for the past few months, so this evening Chris asks how he is getting on now. Again, Bernard exchanges social conversation in an easy manner, typical of the regular spirit visitors. Interestingly, Bernard told us that he speaks and thinks in German...but that, because the medium is English and thinks in English, his voice is heard as English when he communicates within the lodge. Finally, as Chris's request, Elf came through for a few minutes. As usual, the sitters soon collapsed into laughter at this point! Elf chooses to present in an elfin manner. His favourite phrase is "I am me, I just be!" Whilst communicating he fully controls the limbs of the medium, and waves and stretches her arms and legs...because he enjoys feeling the force of gravity again. After the seance, whilst within the house enjoying the lovely little cakes that Lynne had made us...each one decorated with chicks and easter eggs..we chatted together about the evening's seance. Maria said that it was mind blowing and absolutely fascinating. When asked if she had been scared at any time she replied that she hadn't. She said that she had been far ro interested in watching what was going on and she had lots of question to ask. We invited her to come along again, saying that she can bring a list of questions and ask the spirit team herself, as surely this is by far the best way to learn about the nature of life and death.

Transfiguration medium: Sandy

This seance had been set up for a very special purpose. Sue is the medium's sister. She lives at a considerable distance from Bristol and as she works full time there has, until today, been no opportunity for her to sit in the Lodge to witness her sister's work. Aside from these factors, it is quite a big step for someone who has no previous experience of a seance to actually move forward to try it. Sue didn't know what to expect.

The seance began with soft pink lighting, and then, as Chris felt certain that ectoplasmic energy was becoming developed around the medium's face this was exchanged for red lighting. During this time Sue was also aware that her sister's face was becoming changed. Sue described seeing a young man at this time.

After a few minutes however, the facial presentation became accurate and Sue broke down emotionally as she recognised her brother. Mike has been working for this moment for two years and he was delighted to be able to show his face to his sister. He gave this demonstration a clear thumbs up before stepping back, leaving Sue feeling stunned and delighted by their meeting. The team spoke comfortingly to Sue as she struggled with her emotions:

For the past two years we have reported the founding and gradual progress made within the Spirit Space circle and of Sandy's development as a trance and physical medium. For quite some time now, within the Spirit Space circle, the demonstrations of both trance communication and transfiguration phenomena have become stable; and various objects have become moved by the spirit team's manipulation of energy within the lodge during many of the seances held.

Sandy's spirit team have always held a particular interest in Healing, and in fact have continually worked with her within the outside world to this effect. This work will continue.

NOTE: Due to heavy snow and icy roads this was the first sitting for the new year.

Red lighting conditions. 70 minute seance.

Physical Medium: Sandy

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Margaret.

The seance began as usual with the spirit team working with the development of levitation. During this period the energy within the cabinet was visually displayed, with a concentration close to and 'within' the vessel herself. Often it appeared that the medium and the surrounding area was as one, without defined barriers. The small sparks of energy lights were seen within the energy fuzz. Movements of the medium were unseen, but took place. As the two sitters watched a small area closely for movement, none was to be seen, although in fact the watched parts became moved and 'became' differently placed.

The spirit team then caused the medium to bow her head, which enabled sitters to clearly see the ribbon that had been tied onto her hair at the start of the seance. Once in bowed position the medium's head became still...and throughout the experiment this remained the case...but at some point, the ribbon 'became' placed on the end of the vessel's hair, rather than in its original position higher on her head. Although ribbons do fall (slip) from hair, they do not do so whilst the head is held still. At close of seance the ribbon was examined and appeared not to have been untied or loosened, the central knot still being tight and the ribbon ends of the same length as originally tied.

Finally at close of seance it was noted that the medium's shoes, which had been placed in a certain position prior to the opening of the seance, had become moved forward. This particular phenomena has now been demonstrated several times.

In all, a good start to the new year!

A high definition video camera recorded this seance in red lighting conditions. At spirits request no infra red was used. This situation, we have been told, might become changed as further developmental progress is made.

The seance began with the spirit team working towards the levitation of the Medium. During this period the hands of the medium, amongst other things, were seen to become moved. The actual movement being unseen, or if seen then appeared 'disconnected' in some way, as no muscle movement was apparent, two sitters being no more than four feet away from the Medium and having clear unobstructed view of the hands within clear red light.

Following this work the spirit team demonstrated transfiguration of the Medium's facial features, accompanied by physical presentation of her body, so that she appeared seated in a stance recognised as familiarly typical of the portraying spirit person. Three such presentations were made. Joseph, the medium's spirit guide showed his face. This was understood to be the first time he has ever had his photograph taken. Mike, the medium's brother, also presented himself. This photograph will be given as a gift of his parents who remain living on the earth plane. Finally Yolanda, Dave's wife, came forward and presented in a pose well remembered by himself and joyfully received.

Following these presentations Joseph came forward and together we chatted about Christmas presents. Joe said that he would like a "Smile" for Christmas, as within his world a smile is not felt in the same way as it is in our world. He misses the feeling of a physical smile, although he experiences this a little through coming through the Medium, as it enables gravity and 'solid matter' to be felt again.

After a little further lighthearted discussion and banter with sitters the spirit team withdrew and the seance came to a close.

Physical Medium: Sandy

The seance began quietly as the spirit team prepared to continue their work towards the levitation of the medium.

On this occasion sitters witnessed 'energy fuzz' all around and within the cabinet area. Fuzz, appearing rather like waves were also seen at floor level.

The medium appeared to be sitting totally still within the cabinet, without any sign of breathing. However, movements to her hands, arms. legs, torso, head and feet were seen clearly to have taken place after they had happened!

No matter how closely we all watched her feet, for instance, we saw no movement whatsoever...until suddenly we realised that her feet were in fact placed in another position! This phenomena really does need to be seen to be believed. Sitters repeatedly focussed upon an area in their determination to see the slightest movement...only to discover that what they were watching so closely had in fact become changed.

Following this demonstration the energy appeared to have been exhausted. There was a short time for communication before the seance came to an end.

When the full lighting was put on it was noted that Sandy's shoes, which had been carefully placed in a certain position prior to sitting, had become moved forward by about 3 inches.

As usual, we look forward to the next seance...the subject being totally fascinating.

November 26th

Physical medium: Sandy

The seance began as usual with the spirit team working towards the levitation of the medium. As usual this development was fascinating to watch. Basically the medium, seated or laying in her chair appears not to be moving at all, yet as sitters watch closely for movement and see none....nevertheless it is suddenly noticed that a hand, arm, or leg has become moved. The exercise is constantly repeated, and witnesses become increasingly baffled.

Towards the end of the levitation experiment the medium was laying 'above' the chair, with her tip-toes resting lightly on the floor and the back of her head touching the chair.

Afterwards the spirit team spoke of their progress. They say that the internal energy is manipulated and 'stretched' to become lighter....this is not a full explantation, but is the closest description they can offer.

Following this communcation a new spirit person came forward. He told us that his name is Malcolm and that he died fairly recently, aged 25. There was a train accident in London, underground, and he was killed through no fault of his own. He left a pregnant wife. He feels it unreasonable that he has died when his life has more value here. He will now never hold his baby. He feels his death to be sad and unfair. As Malcolm withdrew sitters recalled how Bernard appeared when he first communicated with us. At that time told us that he felt friendless and confused. Since then though, he has moved on and has a busy and happy life within the spirit world. We hope Malcolm will find the same in time, and hope to learn more about him later on.

Once again, a fascinating and interesting communication with much to think about.

NOTE: Upon closure of this sitting it was clear that Sandy's shoes (carefully positioned prior to the seance) had been moved forward by about 4 inches during the seance.

November 19th

Physical Medium: Sandy

The seance began quietly, with the spirit team working towards the levitation of the medium.

On this occasion the medium was lifted physically, although there was some weight still supported upon the head and toes. After the seance Sandy eported feeling that physical movement was continuous, her control was non-existent and the lifting action was felt to be 'as if someone was lifting' her. She felt safe and unconcerned for her safety throughout the experiment.

During the levitation experiment Chris was caused to recognise the transfiguration of the vessel's face. The presentation was 'the same as' on the previous week, when at that time the face was said to be that of Joseph. This week the face was clearer and stable. The vessel's hands appeared enlarged also, which enhanced the impression of a male body, seated upon the chair. The spirit person, once the energy manipulation was stable, moved to present towards the sitters, in clear red lighting conditions. This was impressive, to say the least!

The first part of the seance was spent in the witness of the continuing work towards the levitation of the Medium. The work today was interesting, with 'energy fuzz' blurring the outline of the vessel. During the experiment the centre of the vessel's jacket rose to a height of about 5 inches above her body, 'by itself' as the she lay motionless. Her right hand became enlarged, with the appearance of a man's...whilst the left hand continued to present as female. When two sitters commented upon this presentation the thumb and one finger of the left hand proceeded to become extended! Very peculiar!!!

Also during this period facial alteration (transfiguration) was demonstrated and a face came forward. FC suggested to Chris that this face was in fact Joseph. Chris asked, and received a slight nod of agreement.

Following this work the team adjusted the energy so as to enable trance communication to be effected.

This seance got off the a quiet start. Prior to sitting in seance Sandy had 'fallen out' with her spirit team and told them to leave her alone! Within seance, she said, they were afraid to come forward!

As things became more harmonious medium and team worked together towards the intended levitation experiment. Today the work was witnessed clearly by all sitters present. There appeared to be a light grey mist in patches in the area within the cabinet. In addition there was with blue energy 'fizz' seen all over the 'surface' of the medium, from head to foot. These phenomena have been witnessed previously, but all felt that it was clearer than at any time before.

During the levitation experiment the body of the medium was lifted. Witnesses saw that no weight rested upon the chair, not on the back nor on the seat. Her left foot was rested flat upon the floor, but without weight placed upon it. The right leg was also rested upon the floor, but at a casual angle, again not supporting any weight. Her right arm rested upon the chair arm, and this WAS supporting some body weight.

Following this demonstration Joseph came forward and said that the team were cheating! He said they were resting weight on the arm, so levitation hadn't been real. It should be noted that Joseph is a Guide with an interest in Healing; and he regularly scoffs at some of the other members of the spirit team, who are interested in physical mediumship.

Chris thanked Joseph, and asked if he could assist another communicator; one that might be able to tell us how the levitation experiment was being effected.

Graham then came forward. Graham is a Guide interested in working with ectoplasm. He explained that as we are working in red lighting conditions his job is of crucial importance. He explained, as best he could given our limited ability to understand the process, that the spirit people were taking small quantities of ectoplasm, and coating the body thinly with this. In the same process they covered that coating with a blended energy layer, to protect the ectoplasm from the red lighting conditions. On this particular occasion they had managed to coat the underside of the body, and were therefore closer to their goal.

Shortly after this communication the seance was brought to a close.

Once again...an interesting seance with progress being steadily made.

A very interesting seance. During the first part of the sitting, when the spirit team are developing the levitation experiment, energies were apparent around and 'within' the medium.
These energies were seen by most sitters.

During the same period the transfiguration of the vessel's face was demonstrated, with these faces seen clearly by most of the sitters. Most strangely the medium's hands, both displayed closely together were presented. One hand being displayed as larger, and more masculine than the other. All sitters witnessed this.

Following this period a new communicator came forward, giving his name as Edward. Edward's face had been displayed during the previous Spirit Space seance. Chris asked him about himself. Interestingly Edward appeared to be reading, and studying a map, during his conversation with us.

The seance began as usual, but with the spirit team 'presenting' towards the camera. Clear and steady transfiguration was demonstrated. The first face presented was not recognised by us. The second face was of Mike, the medium's brother, who has visited often previously.

Following the transfiguration presentation various 'energy' forms became apparent. 'Fog' of ectoplasm was seen in the cabinet are, as were small spirit lights.

After this there was a demonstration of 'stretching' of the vessel's physical body, with her arm reaching high, with fingers elongated, again in a manner not normally seen. This was most peculiar to watch. As was the 'waving fingers' demonstration that followed. At this time both hands were held up so as to be clearly seen, and the fingers on each were 'undulating' from side to side, rather like seaweed in the water. There was no muscular effort to this movement...it was rather like watching an optical illusion.

A very interesting seance.

This seance began much as usual, but as sitters became familiar with the red lighing conditions the energy phenomena became clearly seen. The whole of the medium's body seemd 'active'. her head and hands were 'blending' with the surrounding area, as if she was, almost, dissolving into it. At times her face was 'blank' and without features. Several times her head seemed 'insubstantial'.

Her hand was 'held high' for an extended period, during which time tiny lights were seen, and the fingers became lengthened. This was true of both hands, although the arm held aloft was most clearly seen.

John (who has an interest in psychic surgery and alongside some of the other team members. Together they used to work towards this within the Spirit Friends circle until the project was set aside pending further development. The seance began with Sandy lying down on the floor. She had arrived complaining of her back hurting, but whilst laying on the floor there was a great deal of stretching going on. Later on, what can only be described as a spirit-controlled 'sit-up' movement was demonstrated, that none of the sitters was able to reproduce., and all doubted that anyone could do it unless athlete trained.

The seance was perhaps a little quiet today, mainly due to their being two guest sitters who were new to sitting in seance conditions.

First as the energy built within the cabinet several spirit people came forward to present faces towards Chris for validation. One such spirit person was not recognised by the sitters and the whole spirit team became irrate with Chris for not knowing who it was, even when the name was spelled!

Following this experimental work Arthur came forward, puffing gently on his pipe whilst chatting socially. As Arthur withdrew Graham came forward and spoke of his work as an undertaker.

David, seated beside Chris, was in trance state through the first part of the seance.

The seance began as usual, with the spirit team working towards the levitation experiment, and again witnesses felt that the development work was progressing nicely with energy fuzz and small lights seen within the cabinet area, as well as a 'light whiteness' above the vessel as she sat within the chair.

During the second part of the seance the spirit team demonstrated their ability to blend together, whilst still displaying their individuality. They then, upon request, 'parted company' as each introduced themselves to David (a guest sitter). Elf in particular enjoyed this opportunity to demonstrate spirit's physical control of the vessel. Bernard, who hasn't been forward for awhile, came to thank the Circle for their support when he first came through, saying that he has since been able to progress within the world of spirit.

The seance began after we'd all been chatting together in the house in celebration of Sandy's honours degree, therefore the blended energy offered by sitters upon arrival within the lodge felt particularly good. Each sitter chose their seating positions, excepting the chair in the north corner where on this occasion the video camera had been set up. Incidentally, after the seance, Margaret told us that she'd felt a young lady with long wavy hair, wearing a black top, had moved to sit there.

The seance began as usual, with the spirit team working with Sandy towards the levitation experiment. Her spirit-controlled depth of trance was notably deeper than has been witnessed previously. Her team in fact take physical control seriously and are able to 'do whatever they like' with the vessel....but on this occasion her depth of trance was deeper, and the vessel had no memory of what had occured during the first part of the sitting. The depth of trance was set, so the team told us later, due to the fact that the vessel had previously suffered vertigo during the levitation experiment, and the team wished to take her back further, so that this issue would not be a problem.

During the experiment itself the four sitters having the clearest view of the cabinet area felt that the actual levitation of the vessel was about to happen. Amongst these sitters was Lynne, who is a sitter most highly valued for her lack of imagination and totaly logicality. The energy within the cabinet was amazing to be seen. The area around and above the vessel was alive with 'fuzzy stuff' and when her hand was held up at one point; her fingers waved in a manner more appropriately expected of seaweed under water.

Shirley, seated to the side of the cabinet and having an alternative viewing position to the others; saw green haze within the cabinet area, coming from above and falling downwards. This colour and description has been previously mentioned by another sitter (or two) within the Spirit Space seances. At present we have been offered no explanation for this. Chris attended a seance in Banbury a few years ago where this green energy was seen...but we do not know if what has been seen here is 'the same thing' or not. We know that ectoplasm is present in the Spirit Space seance setting, so perhaps a blend is taking place?

Interestingly, the energy matter familiarly seen within the Spirit Sanctuary circle is notably a glow-in-the-dark pink or purple. Further to this, within other seances (with other mediums)held in the lodge setting, a foggy white-grey haze has been seen (and sometimes smelled). As the regular sitters within the Lodge interchange between seances, grouping according to their availability and interest to support the developing mediums and their blending spirit teams it seems that the type of energy being used must primarily stem from the medium and be controlled by the spirit teams working with them. As usual we question and trust to learn as things progress. It is unusual to have so many medium's sitting regularly within one location, we are blessed with the variety of material being offered for the mind to question!

Following the demonstration of their development of levitation, which lasted for 40 minutes, the pace quickened as the team began to bring the vessel back to her perceived normality. This was interesting also. Her body appeared to be 'lacking substance', this comment along with "She's a wimp" being made by spirit person Graham when he came forward to explain the evening's procedures.

When the vessel was sitting in her 'more usual' level of spirit controlled trance state the spirit team decided to blend together and demonstrate their ability to do this effectively, whilst still retaining some individuality of presentation! Therefore her legs were displayed with toes pointing in true 'Elf 'style, whilst her voice presented deeply and roughly in the manner chosen by Graham. One hand was presented in the gentle 'lady' mode favoured by Arethena, with the other hand presented in strongly masculine form; being familiarly that of John Butler. Along with them the cheeky humour of Joseph came through. All of this caused the sitters much amusement of course! As the humour became noted by the team they proceeded to push their humorous abilities to the limit until apparent exhaustion brought an indication that the seance was coming to the end.

A lovely evening enjoyed by all...dead and alive!

For the first half-hour of the seance Sandy was laying on the floor in deep trance condition. This was understood to be as part of the spirit team's progress towards the development and proposed demonstration of physical levitation, in lit conditions.

Following this initial experimentation Joseph, Arethena, Elf, John Butler and other regular communicators came forward to make their presence known. Dave discussed various aspects of spiritual healing in some depth, and the team responded accordingly.

Interestingly also, the team referred to 'pinhole' glasses, which they said were helpful to those who suffered from vertigo. The seance began with the spirit team experimenting with the levitation intent. The energy within the cabinet area at this time was thick and visible to witnesses. The demonstration lasted for about 30 minutes. During this time the vessel's physical body 'slid' down the chair, supported by spirit, but not moved in the normal way...no movement was made through the muscular effort of the vessel, who remained in deep trance state.

As the experiment came to a close Graham came forward to communicate. He joked about the taste of ectoplasm and the spirit team's creation of an external voice box, currently becoming enabled internally. During this discussion, we turned to the subject of the levitation experiment, Graham suggested that the vessel should be laid upon the floor at the start of seance, as this would be helpful. This has been trialled before and will again be practised. The team consider that they are very close to achieving levitation of the vessel. As the levitation work is being managed by both Graham and Elf, Chris mentioned Elf's name. Elf is a childlike energy being, and the team, in general, discourage him from coming forward. It is however his 'fairy-like' personality and anti-gravity experience that encourages him to work to lift the vessel's physical body. Today, Chris's mentioning of Elf's name caused disruption within the cabinet! Elf wanted to speak, Grahm ddin't want this. The two spirits battled together, resulting in giggles from all sitters and much laughter being shared by all. Eventually Graham 'won'. However...having adequately displayed and proven his dominant position through assertiveness...he then stepped aside to allow Elf to come through unhindered.

The team began the seance with a period of developmental work towards their levitation intention experiment. The energy around the medium at this time was seen clearly by several sitters and the work was felt to be progressive.

Healing was then offered, by the blended spirit team, towards the sitter in the north corner. She was advised that her recent sneezing and running nose enabled the exit of mucus and aided the release of toxins from the body. This was considered to be a short term effect, which although uncomfortable, would ultimately aid the natural healing of the physical body. Mankind may too readily reach for medication, which can sometimes introduce further chemical toxins into the body.

After awhile sitters shared further communication with the spirit team. Dave asked about human individuality and whether such individuality would be retained in the afterlife.

The evening began with the spirit team working towards the levitation of the medium. This work appears to be steadily progressing. After a period both Elf and Graham, who are working with this experiment came forward for a chat with sitters.

When they withdrew the members of the spirit Healing team came forward. In response to Chris's request for healing energies to be directed towards a new sitter there was some apparent energy flow established. The sitter felt somewhat surprised to feel, as she later described it, something 'moving internally'...but at this time is unable to feel confident in her own feeling. She has never sat in the circle before....but is now looking forward to coming again.

The Healing team then chatted with the sitters about various aspects of Healing....but as the batteries within the audio recording device expired before this point, there is unfortunately no record of what was said.

At close of seance we noted that two of the items carefully placed in the centre of the room (and clearly marked all around) had been moved 1/2" from their original positions. In clear lighting conditions such movment is unusual, though it has happened previously on a few occasions.

The first half of the seance was spent watching the spirit team working with molecular manipulation in order to develop what amounted to a vanishing act. The facial features and physical form of the vessel changed repeatedly in appearance during this time.

After this period of demonstration Joseph came forward to communicate with sitters. He explained that the development work had been enabled by spirit team members Graham and Elf. Elf is responsible for the movement of energy. grahm is responsible for work that is being enabled through ectoplasm.

Joseph has long complained of the residual taste of ectoplasm and interestingly the team has tried to improve the flavour. Last week the substance apparently tasted of mint. Today the flavour was of garlic. This smell was apparent to Dave who was seated immediately beside the cabinet.

This séance started unusually. Within a few minutes of the opening prayer it was indicated to Chris that both Kia and Jack were being ‘worked with’. Sandy herself was laying back in her chair, totally still. As the guidance offered to Chris for her information, was clear, she simply sat back and let things evolve. The consequence of this was that the sitters saw energy waves, particularly around the vessels legs, but there was little else to be witnessed for quite some time.

Very gradually however we noticed that the vessels fingers were being moved. Her hands had been laid flat with the fingers straight, these clearly seen in focus within red lighting that had been directed at start of séance upon guidance from Chris’s guide FC. The first thing Chris noticed was that the fingers of one hand were curled. This was mentioned to Lynne and Margaret….who watched along with Chris, as other fingers moved and one hand appeared larger than the other, with longer and fatter fingers. This effect was subtle, but clearly seen by both Chris and Margaret.

Towards the end of the séance some communication took place. This began with Graham remarking about the flavour of ectoplasm and suggesting alternative flavours that might be more favourable received. Graham found a piece of sticky paper on the arm of the chair. Joseph then came forward to play, he, along with Graham, was clearly pretending to present as many other familiar communicators! As this hilarity came to an end Elf took advantage of the chaos to come through! Elf is a lively team member and moves the vessels physical body constantly throughout his communication. He is a strange spirit person, but much loved by the sitters!

Finally upon Chris's invitation a visitor also came forward just to take a look around the lodge. She presented her face through the vessel (transfiguration phenomena), and managed to communicate with some difficulty. She was not personally recognised by any of the sitters but the evidential reality of her presence was obvious.

Many other sittings are held within the lodge, aside from those reported on-line. Chris habitually sits as support to any potential developing medium (upon spirit guidance).

This particular séance was being held as a 1-2-1 sitting for development, but in fact held with Kia present as well as Chris.

The séance began with Sandy laid on the floor. The reason for this is that her spirit team are experimenting with levitation, and movement, techniques. The actuality of this presentation was that Kia and Chris and Sandy herself were giggling as she lay down …and the spirit team came through gradually, so as to display their presence and physical control by ‘taking over’ parts of the vessel, a little at a time! Clearly the team was enjoying this game as much as we were!

As the opening prayer was spoken the team took total control as the vessel lay totally still for an extended period of time. It should be noted that prior to attending this séance Sandy had been tired and her legs were aching. She complained of her legs hurting and remarked that she hoped the spirit team would not make this pain worse by their working with her. Also, she said, she needed to work with her dissertation and would be returning home to type into the small hours. It is understood that Bernard (spirit person) is helping with her dissertation!

Whilst she lay on the floor there was ‘energy blurring’ down the full length of her body. Her body also appeared to be slightly raised from the floor upon occasion. These effects were witnessed by Chris and Kia.

After this period of experiment the spirit team raised the vessel (by spirits control of her physical body) to sit her on the chair. Graham then came forward to chat with the sitters and to share information about the levitation experiment, and to joke about how this demonstration may be most effectively presented. Amongst other suggestions was the removal of the vessels head!

As the séance came towards the close Chris asked if the spirit team could assist Kia to meet her spirit guide. There was a lengthy pause before the team made a link across. There were changes to the vessel’s face as the visiting spirit guide attempted to present his facial features through transfiguration. Sandy’s team then offered information about Kia’s guide, and proposed connected team.

The séance began with various members of the spirit team presenting themselves in familiar form as greeting to the sitters.

As this demonstration declined Graham came forward to ask Chris whether it was the right time to experiment with the facial transfiguration development. The CD had been changed and he was uncertain of the plan. Chris responded positively and the spirit team began their work.

Various different faces were soon seen by all sitters. Mike (the medium's brother) came forward, and was recognised readily by Chris, who has seen him present many times. One lady presented herself seated comfortably with one foot tucked beneath her (this would have been her favoured sitting position within physical life). A gentleman came forward presenting himself with a serious injury to his lower right arm. Each time facial changes accompanied the physical presentation of the medium’s body (which was controlled by spirit). A fascinating demonstration!

Upon spirit guidance Chris was then asked to remove the séance trumpet from the centre of the room, and to dim the red light. She was given to understand that at that point ectoplasm was to be used with intensity as the spirit team are attempting to enable levitation of the medium. The increased fuzzy appearance of energy within the cabinet area was apparent and Chris (who was seated most closely) could see the physical head and torso of the vessel seeming to blur and become undefined, as if blending with the surrounding energies. Most peculiar!

After this, the lighting was changed (with the spirit team's permission) and, after a little complaint from Joseph regarding the mess ectoplasm had made within the medium; that he had to clear up, Graham came forward to chat. Finally as he withdrew Bernard too exchanged valuable communication with those present.

The evening began quietly, with some apparent development work relating to levitation experiment. Aside from this, as ectoplasmic fog began to form within the cabinet area, the lighting was reduced to red. Soon after this a variety of facial presentations became displayed, mostly with masculine features.

When these demonstrations came to an end a spirit visitor came forward. This visitor had suffered a stroke in life, and was paralised down their left side, whilst their right leg remained constantly active. They did not wish to communicate with us, but simply came through seeking validation. We therefore thanked them for coming through and wished them well.

Elf then came forward briefly. He was followed by Graham, who explained about the work that the spirit team had been working with during the evening, and went on to share humour about his horse and some aspects of his life whilst upon the earth plane.

Finally Joseph came through to indicate close of seance.

NOTE: After close of seance, whilst chatting in the house, Phil described a figure that he'd seen standing beside Sandy within the lodge. This figure matched the description of Graham, as he has previously been described.

An interesting evening. Four of the sitters had not met Sandy before and it was interesting to receive their various impressions of the seance.

The seance began strangely, with John (spirit surgeon) coming through before the medium entered the lodge, in fact he had made his presence known within the house and had subsequently 'walked within' the medium towards the lodge. The reason for this demonstration was in response to a query the previous week, when Dave had asked the spirit team whether John had retained his ability to control the medium physically in this way, as he hadn't done so for some time.

Once inside the lodge, John offered energy healing towards Dave, who was a willing recipient.
After this experience Arethena (spirit nurse) came forward for a short chat.

Following this activity the spirit team settled back to work with other projects. They are working towards levitation of the medium. They are also working towards the development of direct voice.

The next demonstration was of spirit faces, through transfiguration. Chris recognised one face that has been presented on a number of occasions previously, but has not yet been identified.

Finally there was a short chat with Graham before Joseph came forward to indicate closure of the seance.

NOTE: After the prayer, when the full lighting conditions were restored Chris noted that one of her shoes, which had been placed carefully side-by-side beneath her chair, was out of alignment by about 3 inches.

The seance began with a demonstration of transfiguration, with faces enabled by the spirit team being presented towards the video camera (an on-going experiment).

John (spirit surgeon) then offered healing energy towards Dave, before expanding this healing energy towards all three sitters. At this time Arethena (spirit nurse) also made her presence known.

After this demonstration a member of the spirit team came forward to communicate. Graham being the primary communicator at this time. A gruffly spoken person within physical life, he joked typically with sitters. Joseph came through briefly towards the end of the seance in order to indicate closure, and just before closing Elf also made his presence known. A lovely spirit team, much loved by all.

This seance began quietly. We learned later that Graham, Joseph and Elf were all wanting to come through at the same time, because we'd set up the camera and they all wanted to demonstrate for the recording! In consequence none of them were able to come through!

Joseph wanted to organise things as he is the vessels primary guide. Graham felt he should come through first as he could enable transfiguration (which he felt was what the camera was put there for). Elf felt that he'd been working particularly hard recently and deserved to come though first! After this hilarious confusion of interests things stablised. It was then agreed that Elf could come through.

Elf described his enjoyment at being able to enter physical form. Within the spirit world he can stretch and float, but the feeling of stretching, floating and movement is more enjoyable here, within physical form, with gravity and restraint to 'push against'. He moves, when in the spirit world, but cannot feel that movement. He said how important movement is to him and how much he enjoys visiting here, so that he can feel the movement. He is working, he has told us previously, towards the levitation of the vessel.

Graham came through briefly, and then finally as the energy reduced Joseph came forward to indicate the close of seance.

An amusing seance....very funny at times. Elf's description of movement was thought provoking and his description offered insight as to why he is enjoying the work towards enabling levitation of the vessel.

April 9th

The seance began with a demonstration of transfiguration phenomena. During this period we sat in red lighting conditions as we understand that ectoplasm was being used within this demonstration. The faces demonstrated were clearly presented, but flickered quickly across the supporting features of the vessel. At times the eyes appeared open (despite being closed) and often the facial features were totally distorted as adjustments were being made to the phenomena.

Following this period various spirit people came forwards to make their presence known. Most being familiar to regular sitters they were acknowledged before withdrawing in order to allow others to also say 'hello'. Sitters recognised John, Arethena, Elf and Albert, before Joseph came forward followed by Graham. By this time the ectoplasm had been withdrawn and the lighting changed.

NOTES: After the seance three sitters felt that three items placed within the centre of the room had been moved slightly. These movements were neither confirmed nor denied by the spirit team.

David, who had been seated in the north corner of the lodge, felt that he had received 'healing energy' to his head during the latter part of the seance. This was confirmed by both FC and by the spirit team.

An interesting seance. Initially quiet, as the spirit team appeared to be working with the medium. Sitters meanwhile enjoyed the energies experienced within the lodge. David, being a new sitter, was particualrly interested in the feelings evoked within the environment.

The first communicator to make his presence known beyond doubt was Joseph. He stepped aside to allow Elf to come forward. Elf being a fun filled character, sitters were soon smiling along with him.

Alfred then introduced himself, saying he had not visited us before. However his name, Alfred Biggins, a sailor, has been noted as a visitor on a previous occasion.

Graham was the next to speak with us. He was followed by Joseph, who indicated briefly that it was time to close the seance.

NOTE: Within the house afterwards, David voiced his interest in coming along to another seance. He is, of course, very welcome.

This is just one of the reasons why the Circle work here is so interesting....

Sandy came around last night to see me. We've been friends for years and this was a social visit. We were chatting together in my living room, about her current dissertation for her hons degree. She was talking about her future employment and her particular interest in working with those who suffer conditions within the Autistic spectrum. Whilst talking together she said that Joseph (her spirit guide) and other members of the spirit team are supporting her to work with Healing and this may be part of a bigger picture.

I said "If they (the spirit team) can work with you to heal in the outside world, why are they here in séance then?" .......and she promptly fell into familiar trance state! My recorder is always beside my chair when Sandy visits, as this isn't the first time her team take an opportunity to pop in for an impromptu chat. This is the audio recording made on this occasion:

March 5th

This seance proved particularly interesting, as the lighting was unusually set to red (as a result of FC's guidance). After a short period, there were energy-based changes to the medium's facial features. This was seen by all sitters. Many faces were presented, some clearly defined, others less stable. But also many times all facial features were 'lost' and all that could be seen was a blur where the vessel's face should have been.

Particularly interesting was the 3D presentation of transfiguration (this had not been witnessed before within the Spirit Space seances). A couple of the faces presented in this way were stunning in their display.

Several times it was seen that the vessel's torso was also changed, from slim to heavily built....or simply blurred with energy, so without clear form. This energy appeared almost like waves of coloured lights.

After this demonstration Graham came forward to explain the work that was being carried out. He explained that with Development the physical presentation of the over-lying spirit form could become further removed from the vessel, and true materialisation effected.

Finally, as is his team's custom, Joseph came forward to indicate close of seance.

NOTE: After the seance Chris noted that her shoes, which she had placed side by side beneath her chair, pushed to rest against the back bar....were positioned 2" away from the bar. During the previous seance similar movement had been acknowledged.

February 26th

This seance began as usual, but unusually things within the cabinet area were quiet for the first 25 minutes. It was apparent to Chris that developmental work connected with the levitation experiment was taking place. There was also some work being carried out internally, upon the voice box. Most of the sitters were aware of this work and were patiently enjoying their period of rest whilst the spirit team worked.

Following these precedures Graham came forward to explain the work to us. Joseph folloed him and spoke lightly and in joking mode for a short time before close of seance.

NOTE: Following the close of seance Chris and Lynne (who were seated side by side) both noticed that their shoes were positioned beneath their chairs in a different way to how they were at start of seance. Chris knows for a fact that she was fidgetting and that her feet did slide back beneath the chair on two or three occasions when she was leaning forward to study the medium's face as it rested towards the back of the cabinet. However, Lynne's shoes were not close to hers, and Lynne felt surprised that hers appeared to have been disturbed. We will ask the spirit team to clarify when next we sit, we have found them to be honest in the past.

February 19th

The seance began as usual with spirit presence apparent from the start. Sandy remained in spirit controlled trance throughout. Various regular communicators, most now members of the spriit team, were recognised by sitters as they blended through and within the vessel.

They worked towards the development of levitation, and the manipulation of the vessel's voice box, and with transfiguration phenomena. In all it was a busy seance, with much work being trialled by the various memebrs of the spirit team.

Also, interestingly, during the seance a new spirit visitor was assisted to come through as part of his developmental progress. This proved to be an interesting experience for all of us.

Note: At close of seance Sandy's shoes had been moved back from their original position by about 1". With humour, we promised Joseph that we would be reporting this in small print....and will print any more obvious movement in larger print!

Note: After this seance Jon mentioned to Chris that he had seen a green mist around the mouth of the medium during the new visitors conversation. Jon is a responsible and experienced sitter and we hope to learn more of this phenomena at a later date.

February 12th

The seance began quietly. Then, before too long there was an energy presentation, when waves of blurred red, yellow and green sped across the vessels face, altering the appearance of her facial features, and at times causing her face to become totally obscured. Small blue lights were also seen during this period.

Following this display a stable face became presented towards Marsha. Along with this face Sandy's spirit team caused alterations to the physical presentation of the vessel's body in order to best represent Marsha's grandmother. This lady then came forward and offered Marsha a personal message that was gratefully received.

Once again, and as always, the team worked well and the seance was an enjoyable validational experience.

February 5th

There was thick snow outside the Lodge, and some of the regular sitters had been unable to attend due to these weather conditions. Amazingly Dave and Pam braved the elements to get here from Tetbury!

The seance was a celebratory one as the Bristol Spirit Lodge Circle would, next day, be two years old. Lynne had made a special cake to support the celebration. This was iced with frilled icing around the edges and the names of our regular communicators were iced within this trimming. On top of the cake Lynne had fomed a tiny cabinet with a chair inside it. There was also a table with a seance trumpet on top. It looked lovely, and was also delicious!

The seance itself was great fun, as usual. Joseph pulled out all the stops. Mike demonstrated transfiguration and assisted with the medium's physical presentation of spirit visitors. Graham came forward for a chat, as did John Butler, who hasn't visited us for awhile. Even Arethena came forward, and sent love from the spirit children Kristian and Becca.

One of the special features of this particular seance was when the energy levels increased to display colours and 'warping' of Sandy's face and torso. This, we were told by Elf was connected to his levitation experiment.

A fantastic seance! A true celebration of the two years we've shared with those living within the spirit world. We love 'em!

January 29th

There was a little delay to the start of the seance and the spirit team were displaying their impatience to get started. As we all entered the Lodge it was clear that the medium was 'crashed out' before the sitters had finnished were taking their places.

The opening prayer and customary music seemed to settle everything down however.

The first demonstration involved the use of ectoplasm, so Chris was guided to turning the red light down low whilst this development was taking place. We understand that the spirit team is working for the development of direct voice, which requires some internal manipulation. Ectoplasm is being used during this process.

We understand too that internal manipulation is also being developed for other purposes. The team is keen to continue the Healing experiment previously trialed but temporarily set aside.

The next thing to be presented was a 'face'. This face seemd blended with the vessels own. A spirit person came forward and wrote a message relating to a spirit connection having been made.

Elf then made use of a brief pause in activity to pop in to say hello, with much giggling!

After this Albert came forward for a chat, but his visit was confused by another team member wishing to work in another way and it was awhile before order was restored!

Graham came through briefly after this. He was followed by Joseph, who spoke to us briefly before close of seance.

As the seance progressed the presence of various members of the spirit team was noted.

Things then went very quiet as the medium appeared to have lost 'her' voice during the experimentation and the spirit team, particularly Joseph, were apparently joking about having mislaid it!

Graham finally came forward to explain in some detail about the developmental progress being made amongst the spirit team members, before the seance came to a close.

The seance began as usual, with spirit presence apparent before the opening prayer was completed. On this occasion the energy within the cabinet area built up to appear as coloured waves passing across the vessel's face and body. As the two sitters had been placed by guidance to sit close together they were able to confirm what was being seen from the same position of view. Chris had been previously guided to turn down the red lighting were such phenomena to become presented she appropriately dimmed the light until the waves cleared. She was then guided to turn the red lighting up slowly and gradually. As the light was increased the familiar changes to the vessel's face were clearly seen. We then recognised the physical appearance and personality presentation as being that of the gentleman, Albert, who was again sitting smoking his pipe.

Following this demonstration Elf's presence was recognised, along with Arethena, who came to support him. These two were followed by Graham who spoke a little about the progress being made by the team.

Our final communicator during this seance was Joseph. He spoke of a medium's need to be open to spirit and not to set boundaries or expectations, but to be open to learning.

A most enjoyable seance.

The seance began quietly before the energy within the cabinet became thicker than any previously seen here. At one stage most of the vessel's face was totally obscured by the energy. This phenomena was witnessed by all three sitters at the same time. The thick energy mist was similar to the early stages of materialisation (witnessed by Chris at other seances attended), although there has been no suggestion made by this team that they are working for this.

Another development witnessed within this seance was the apparent opening of the vessel's eyes during the presentation of various spirit faces during facial transfiguration. In fact her eyes remained closed throughout the seance.

Towards the end of the evening Craig came forward to speak with us. He was followed by Joseph who shared a few smiles before the seance came to a close.

An excellent seance with a great deal of progress made.

NOTE: In the early hours of the following morning I was woken by FC (the guide that has guided my work within the Lodge). FC gave clear guidance that when the witnessed energy is similarly displayed at a later date, I should turn the red lighting down to the minimum required for sitters to be able to dimly see each other (such as is required to witness the movement of one or another). Also that sitters be instructed to sit still during this experimental work and not to lean themselves forward. If any be inclined to fidget then hands should be held, but with hands not linked across the area that is the north corner of the Lodge. FC's guidance, as always, will be respected. Chris Di Nucci.

January 9th

This evenings seance was unplanned. I had received an e-mail from Sandy a few hours earlier, asking if I had time to sit 1-2-1 with her. I often sit in this way and enjoy the experience. This evening was no exception. However, the seance proved to be an exceptional experience.

We sat in soft lighting conditions before later changing to red light. The seance lasted for almost an hour. The first 15 minutes followed 'the usual' format, with Sandy's spirit team coming forward and 'settling down' before communicating. But shortly after this, within red lighting conditions a strange face was presented towards me. The spirit team also presented the physical body of the vessel in ways representative of a male person comfortably smoking his pipe. The presentation of the figure was impressive. I didn't recognise him and so invited him to tell me a little bit about himself. After allowing a short time for adjustments to be made (the vessel cannot talk whilst the facial features are becoming formed, so the team need to make adjustments before enabling speach) the gentleman gave his name as Albert. He spoke in a relaxed fashion, and sucked on his pipe, as if pondering, upon occasion.

Following the withdrawal of Albert there was s short period of time before a totally different face was presented towards me. This lady has been to see us before, in October I believe. Her name is Margaret and she was disabled in earthly life before passing from a stroke condition. This evening she told me that she is fully healthy and able to enjoy her garden, and loves gardening again now that she is well again.

I expected the seance to be coming to a close after this, but instead after another short period a further face, entirely different from the previous two, was presented. This gentleman showed himself as physically marching. He too soon became able to speak with me. He told me that he died young. He has since matured and now cares, as a grandfather, for a child. An interesting chat was shared.

The vessel was clearly tired by this time and soon after the withdrawl of this communicator I thanked the spirit team for their work once again and together we closed the seance.

This evening's seance was one I shall remember as being 'one of the best'. But then....they all are!

The seance began a little early due to some urgency, as the medium arrived with her team pressing forward. However once seated there was calm restored. Chris and Margaret then became aware that healing was taking place within the cabinet. Following this a demonstration of the projected voice development took place. A wide range of vacalisations were demonstrated (all with the medium's mouth remaining tightly closed).

Graham next came forward for a chat. He was followed briefly by Joseph and then by Elf.
Elf unusually took centre stage for quite some time before withdrawing. Elf presents as a totally free spirit without desire to conform. He offers himself as an example of the freedom experienced within the spirit world by those who wish to live free from all restraints.

Joseph then returned and enabled John and Arethena to come through just to let us know that they are still working in the background. As they've not communicated with us for some time now this was good to know.

An interesting seance and a good start to 2009.

The seance began as usual, with gurgling noises emanating from the cabinet area as the spirit team apparently worked with the manipulation of ectoplasm within the medium. Their intention is to work towards the development of direct voice. Currently they have achieved a more masculine tone during trance communication.

Whilst the described work proceeded most sitters could see blue and red energy glow within the cabinet area.

As the developmental process came to an end Mike came forward, presenting his familiar stance and facial features to sitters. Some indication was then made of children (Becca and Kristian) being within the room and Chris subsequently felt movement of her skirt, which increased when verbal recognition was made. Marsha's grandmother later came forward for a few minutes.

Finally Graham came along for a general social chat with everyone before the seance came to a close.

Once again, a very enjoyable seance.

The seance began quietly, with the spirit team displaying evidence of physical control of the vessel. This was followed by changes to the voice channel with more masculine voice tones heard. After this things became really interesting!

The facial features changed to present first as Mike, then as a spirit person who gave his name as Albert, who smoked a pipe and was known to Lynne (who failed to recognise him). He was followed by a lady whose facial features and physical presentation were recognised by Marsha as being her grandmother. This lady has presented on a previous occasion, but this time was more particularly defined.

The seance closed following a little social chat from the spirit team.

Due to unforseen circumstances this seance was held with four dedicated sitters in blackout conditions. These sitters being Chris, Margaret, Dave and Pam. No plan was set, the seance being simply opened with a prayer and request for spirit to join us.

We sat for an hour listening and sometimes singing along with the music and enjoying the general ambience of the Lodge space. The seance actually turned out to be a very pleasurable emotional experience. All four sitters saw twinkling lights at various times during the sitting and all four felt that spirit people were drawing close.

The seance began unusually with an immediate request from the spirit team for red lighting conditions to be in place. We later understood that they were working with ectoplasm from the beginning, and will therefore now set these conditions before the start of each seance.

Mike presented briefly, followed by various facial transformations, none of which were recognised by the sitters. Later on during the seance a lady was described to Pam as having long thick hair and of having a sister named Anita.

To Chris the description of a man named Mark who had died of a broken neck when Chris was a child. Chris had no memory of this. Enquiries will be made in an attempt to validate.

It should be recognised of course that the Bristol Spirit Lodge Circle was set up for the support and development of physical mediumship, and the offering of messages alone towards individual persons is not something that the spirit teams focus upon. It is nevertheless interesting to occasionally divert from the chosen path.

The work of the spirit team towards the development of independent voice, along with that of transfiguration, is much appreciated and is continuing.

The seance began quietly, but with much energy clearly present that was particularly noted by several sitters. It wasn't long before Graham came forward and demonstrated the spirit teams control of the vessels' voice box (they are working towards direct voice communication). As the sounds came to a close Mike presented his facial features and familiar physical appearance through the process known as transfiguration. However just a minute or two later his face changed and a new presentation was made towards Marsha. As the spirit team adjusted the physical presentation Marsha recognised her grandmother! She afterwards said that there was no doubt at all that the presentation was a true likeness.

The work was not yet over. There were further adjustments made to the face and the medium's physical appearance and this presentation was directed towards Chris. Chris felt that the only two people who might make themselves known to her were her parents. But the presentation was not recognised as either, so she remained unconvinced. However...she suddenly remembered Len! The physical appearance was in fact a fair representation of this person, although Chris hasn't seen him for several years, and was unable to give validation. The team accepted this. Len then proceeded to say that he currently has cancer, has lost a lot of weight and spends most of his time in the spirit world, where he is well. He is close to passing. The seance followed some signs of spirit presence within the house as Graham had been with Sandy prior to her arrival. Soon, following the arrival of the sitters we all went out into the Lodge and the seance began in the usual manner.

There was evidence of spirit manipulation of the physical body within a few minutes of sitting as her head came forward to rest upon her knees. Her breathing changed in ways indicative of developmental work in progress. This was followed by Mike presenting his facial features towards Chris, for verification, before further changes became apparent.

Dave and Margaret reported seeing lights around the vessels face and neck. Chris saw what she felt to be 'energy changes' around the facial mask. The face appeared to change shape and to become unrecognisable. The spirit team later told us that indeed another face was being presented, but was insufficiently developed to be recognised by the person it was intended for. This person was Marsha. The team said they would try this experiment again in the future.

After this there was s short visit from 'Elf' before Arethena came forward and indicated her need to write, as the vessel was at that time unable to be used for speaking. The team are working with her internally for the development of direct voice.

After Arethena's written communication Graham came through for a short time, he writing also before gradually becoming able to speak. Finally Joseph presented in his usual manner.

Red lighting conditions. 75 minute seance.

Physical medium: Sandy

The seance began with Sandy laying on the floor of the Lodge. This was at spirits request.

We later learned that this position was considered favourable for experimentation with breathing and the manipulation of ectoplasm within. During this experiment it was noted that the medium had air held in her mouth, which was being moved rapidly whilst her lips and jaws were tightly closed. She was breathing through her nose. Also within this period of experimentation it seemed apparent that the whole of the spirit team were present and playing a part.

Following this period the vessel was lifted (by the spirit team) to sit in her chair within the open cabinet. After a short break Mike came forward, presenting his facial features, this transfiguration clearly seen within the red lighting conditions.

When Mike withdrew the strange spirit entity known to us as 'Elf' came for a chat. Elf moves the vessel physically the whole time he speaks and witnesses cannot help but smile as the medium's arms are waved above her head whilst her legs are waved wildly, with her toes being pointed in ballet style! Elf speaks and presents in fairy mode and the whole presentation is simply hilarious! On this occasion Sandy became aware of the situation and herself started to laugh along with the spirit team! This disturbance caused Elf to depart suddenly, leaving Sandy's body doubled over, with her head down by her ankles! Graham came through at that juncture and spoke first from this strange position, before it became apparent that the medium was becoming unable to breathe! Other team members came forward and hoisted the medium into a seated position!

Graham has a very strong personality and is currently very proudly the most loudly spoken comunicator. Tonight he displayed his customary concern for the sitter's reduced hearing (she has some hearing loss) and began his communication with full force! As this followed on immediately from Elf's very recent 'fairy tones' it was extremely difficult to maintain decorum, and Chris, the only witness, was suffering from face ache from trying not to collapse into uncontrollable laugher!

During Graham's communication Chris asked him about the strange breathing pattern of the vessel whilst she was laying on the floor at the start of the seance. Graham helpfully explained about the teams work at that time, saying that ectoplasm was being mixed with air for the purpose intended (whatever that is!).

Just as the seance came to a close Joseph came forward to give his familiar wave 'goodbye'.

Finally....at close of seance both Chris and Sandy collapsed into fits of giggles.....!

The seance began quietly, with Mike coming forward to display his facial features within the red lighting conditions. From the sitters perspective this phenomena was unclear on this occasion. The vessel's hands were clearly seen in detail but the face above was totally obscurred 'by something' for most of the period of the experiment.

Following this demonstration there was a short pause before the spirit team started to experiment with the development of direct voice. On this occasion they displayed a wide variety of sound tones and of breathing control. The whole seance was, as usual, recorded. One part of the resultant sound file is offered for your interest. Later in the seance Joseph explains how the spirit team are working. He said that the vessel is changed internally. A 'sounding box' is created, the voice box is consequently squeezed upwards. The air is stored in the stomach area, not in the chest. She can breathe through her nose, but not receive air from her chest, but from her stomache area.
Ectoplasm is being used internally. Red lighting conditions are required.

Interesting stuff!

Following this communication things were quiet again, but just when we thought the seance was drawing to a close there were blue lights seen around the vessel's hands chest (witnessed and described clearly by three sitters). Joseph seemed pleased that these had been seen. Indeed so were we!

This seance had been set up slightly differently. At spirit's prior request the medium was laying on the floor at the start of seance. In the event there was no clear reason or purpose for this, but it was understood that some experimentation was being carried out.
It was also clear that ectoplasm was, in some manner, being used.

Following the 'floor' experiment the medium was supported by spirit to sit in her chair. Again it was evident that ectoplasm was present at that time. Very soon after being seated in the chair Mike came forward. His face was clearly displayed covering or blended with the vessels own. He then spoke with us at some length. This communication being of a personal nature relevant to a circle member, and therefore not for open publication.

When Mike withdrew Joseph came to chat. He told of his life spent upon the earth plane. This communication was of general interest to all.

The seance began unusually, with little evidence of spirit presence, until the medium was seated within the cabinet. The presence of Joseph was then made clear, with much wriggling and excited giggling!

Following the prayer and opening of the seance a period of comparative calm was felt, before Mike came forward and it was made clear by the spirit team that red lighting was required. Chris effected this request immediately. The spirit team require red lighting conditions (or blackout) when using ectoplasm as this substance is extremely light sensitive. Although currently the team are apparently working internally with this Medium, in order to proceed with the manipulation of the voice channel towards the development of direct voice phenomena, there has been some sign of the substance also being used for the enablement of transfiguration.

To this effect, within the red lighting conditions, Mike presented his masculine facial features and at the same time the vessel's physical body appeared to expand, to present as a larger form than herself. There was also a suggestion of his having shoulder length hair, as confirmed by Mike. Whilst presenting in this manner there was also some sound demonstration, which was recognisable as being relevant to the early development of direct voice.

Towards the end of Mike's presentation another spirit person came forward, they blended with Mike and other members of the spirit team, who were clearly supporting this spirit person to enable communication. The spirit person gave his name as Christopher. He said that he was here to see a friend. It was subsequently made clear that Christopher had come forward to see Margaret. Although unable to speak, through writing he thanked her for being kind to him during his life. Christopher was a disabled child befriended and remembered by Margaret from many years ago. He 'died' as a result of a lung condition.

As the seance drew to a close Chris noticed that the Medium's shoes which had been placed carefully side by side underneath her chair were moved. Both shoes had been placed to rest against a line marked on the carpet. They had been moved back about 4 or 5 inches, still in their neat side-by-side presentation. Beside the shoes was a red belt, which had also been carefully positioned before the seance began to lie beside the same line. The red belt had not been disturbed at all. Chris indicated this situation to Lynne, who confirmed what is described and had in fact noticed the same for herself. The other two sitters were also informed and agreed the change.

A thoroughly interesting seance.

NOTE: Next morning, bright and early as is his custom, FC informed Chris that the shoes had indeed been moved. This was effected during a period of calm in the red lighting conditions. FC indicated that red lighting conditions should now be maintained throughout the Spirit Space seances. The side effect of this will be that trance communication will become reduced (due to adjustments being made to the vessel internally). However, towards the close of seance the team may instead write in order to offer communication and guidance. Chris agreed to these suggestions. Clearly there is developmental progress being made.

Why red light?
In light, differences in frequency appear as differences in color. For example, red light has a frequency of about 5 × 1014 hertz; green light, a frequency of about 6 × 1014 hertz; and blue light, a frequency of about 7 × 1014 hertz. Although we do not understand why the spirit team need red lighting conditions, there may be reasons for this that are beyond out present understanding. Clearly, rather than question every aspect, we can and will readily provide what has been requested.

A little later on further guidance was offered by FC. This time to confirm that ectoplasmic substance may be present within the room during Spirit Space seances and to state the requirement for sitters to sit still so as not to cause unnecessary disturbance during this sensitive period of development. It was indicated that some sitters may in fact be unable to comply with this requirement, or may become unwell (headache, sore throat, dizziness) due to the nature of the experimentation. Again, Chris gave assurance of her understanding, and agreement that seance safety would be upheld.

The seance began unusually, with the whole spirit team all apparently present, and all trying to come forward at the same time. This disorganisation remained apparent until Chris asked them to sort themselves out so as to enable one of them to communicate with us! Joseph subsequently came forward following this request, followed soon afterwards by Bernard. Bernard appeared to bring some organisational skills into play.

Bernard described the nature of the books that he has within his library. He described that he doesn't read books in the way that we read books. His description of 'books' was interesting. Following Bernard's communication Mike came forward and the red lighting conditions were set in place at spirit's request. This is because ectoplasm is being used to form appropriate masculine facial features over the vessel's own during this period.

When Mike withdrew there were a few minutes of silence before a strange entity took a look around and then spoke, much to our amusement! Elf told us that he had visited before (but we didn't remember him). He told us that he had lived long ago, in Africa, but before the earth looked as it does now. Sometimes this work stretches our belief system to the extreme! However, it is all great fun and many smiles are shared.

The seance began with some period for adjustment. Graham came forward and wanted to levitate the medium, but after vibrating her physical body, he then stretched and tried to lift her legs and arms. Graham, like many of this team, considers that his job is much more difficult than anyone else's!

Graham then went on the mention that previously Arethena had wanted a gap in the ceiling decoration filled, and subsequently Chris had done this. However at the time it was first noticed Chris had told Arethena to do the job herself. Graham said that therefore Arethena is upset. Chris promised to change the decoration back to its original condition, so that Arethena can tackle it herself later.

The next communicator was Joseph. He complained about the chair, discussed the spirit team, and the recent holiday enjoyed by the Medium. He then explained how difficult his work can be, that as he is the most important member of the team, he is the boss, he has to look after everything!

As Joseph withdrew Chris received a signal for the red lighting conditions to be put in place. At the same time she became aware that the children, Kristian and Becca, were within the room. Later, after the seance, Jon reported seeing a blue whispy energy mist around the right side of the central table, which he felt relevant to the presence of the children.

Within the red lighting conditions Mike came through. We have been told before by this spirit team that often the type of energy being used within the red light conditions suits the work of both the two spirit children and Mike. Mike presented his facial features. This appears as a red (within red light) mask of a male face displayed over the vessels own. This phenomena has been seen many times and is recognised as being the same facial presentation each time.

Sandy had been aweay on holiday for about a month, and during this time had little awareness of the presence of her spirit team. However it was soon apparent that development had been taking place. Joseph and the rest of the team were very excited, and began by demonstrating long drawn out sounds demonstrating extreme breathing control (they are working towards direct voice phenomena) far exceeding that previously witnessed.

Following this Joseph manipulated the vessels physical body, rather as one might shake a rag doll. The team then worked together in an attempt to raise her from the chair. The attempt was unsuccessful but their determination to succeed was very apparent.

As things became quieter Bernard came forward and chatted for awhile. Chris took the opportunity to mention that several sitters within another circle share an interest in astral projection, and she asked Bernard if he knows anything about this. This was Bernard's response:

The seance began as usual with a prayer spoken and music playing. The first communicator was Graham, who spoke with some confidence about his role within the spirit team. He spoke also of his ability to speak clearly and loudly for the first time through the vessel, and achievement that was a result of his own efforts.

He admitted his part in the recent team disputes and said that he now accepts that he has expected to do too much, without allowing the medium to develop towards acceptance of his intention. He said that he was delighted to have been offered the opportunity to come forward and was enthusiastic to get started! But now he realises that he must take his time. He said that Joseph has been against him, but that he felt he would not be dictated to by a child.

However, recently Graham has watched Joseph's working through the vessel during healing and has gained more respect as a result. Arethena has also spoken with him, and he now accepts that he has been wrong, and will now allow further development to take place before pushing forward. He will meanwhile still be working with the vessel and the team.

The next communicator was John, who said that the psychic surgery experiment had not been set aside, and that skills are still being developed. He spoke with confidence and pleasure that he was now able to communicate verbally through the vessel, as this had not been previously achieved.

Following John's departure Arethena came forward and told us that she had left the mean within the team to sort out the recent dispute, but when this state became prolonged she stepped in herself to settle it! She said now that the situation is peaceful again the children would be coming back to work here. She asked that red light be provided for them, and also some aparatus set in the middle of the room to encourage them to come out of the cabinet area.

Joseph came through towards the end of the seance. He too praised his personal efforts in solving the dusputes. He, as leader, was worthy of respect.

A fun seance. It's good to know that the spirit team are once again working in unison.

The seance began with much vibration of the vessels mbody being made apparent. This continued until she slid to the floor. Upon being replaced in the chair the vibration was re-started, and again she slid to the floor.

After this Graham came forward to communicate. He told us that he wished the Medium to float....and it was her fault that she wasn't doing this! He explained that he needed her compliance, and he was displeased that she wasn't complying! Some gentle persuasion was offered by Chris, who asked for him to be more patient.

When Graham withdrew Mike came forward. He explained that there were differences of opinion between Graham and Joseph. Joseph, being the vessels guide, wasn't happy that she was being shaken around. Grahm wanted joseph to mind his own business!

Mike assured us that Granny Button was in the spirit team and she was taking good care of the vessel and could be trusted to look after her. Mike said that Arethena was acting as negotiator and would be working with the men to try to ease the situation.

It seems that there are personality clashes in the afterlife as well as upon the earth plane and that negotiation and teamwork will still be required!

July 3rd

The seance began quietly, nevertheless with some evidence that the spirit team were working with the Medium. This continued for about 15 minutes, before Graham (a member of the spirit team) began to manipulate the physical body of the medium. She was shaken and lifted from the seat of her chair, before being startled into realisation, which caused her to fall to the floor. After a short pause, various members of the spirit team manipulated her until she was again seated in he chair.

Arethena (spirit person) came forward to explain that Graham had decided to carry out this experiment with levitation, but as the Medium was unaware of his intention she became alarmed. Her request for the team to take her back further was inappropriate, according to Arethena, but she criticised Graham for not communicating his needs more appropriately. Having explained the situation, Arethena then withdrew.

Joseph then came forward. He too criticised Graham. However it was agreed that it is a learning experience for both those in our world and in the world of spirit.

Chris then mentioned her interest in the proposed healing seance with this Medium tomorrow evening, and asked if Joseph knew who would be 'operating' on her ears. Joseph told Chris that this would be Craig. Chris asked if Craig knew how to heal her ears (she has hearing difficulties) and Joseph said that he didn't know. This led to Chris saying that she hoped Craig wouldn't get carried away and make her look like Dumbo! Further joking was exchanged, and rabbits ears mentioned as a possibility.....followed by offered spirit dentistry to enable buck teeth to go with them! Chris said that they had too many ideas!!! Joseph said that the teams remit is to enable physical phenomena, and Chris had volunteered herself for the healing experiment, so if she could hear well, but had rabbits ears, this would meet the agreed agenda! He said it would also prove the spirit team's ability!!!

The seance began as usual with the opening prayer and soft music. Joseph's presence was apparent from the start. As the first two pieces of music drew to a close the spirit team began working with the manipulation of energy around the room, and then around medium's physical body. They moved and vibrated her physically. Due to the fact that she was unrestrained by the customery waist tie (which we had decided to leave off on this occasion) she slid towards the floor, and was then 'hoisted back up' onto the seat several times. From the observers point of view this was interesting to watch as clearly the medium was within an altered state of consciousness and had little control over these events. During this period sitters recognised some in-put from Bernard, Arethena, Margaret and Mike.

As things calmed down again Mike came forward slightly, and some work was carried out, for a short time, towards the development of direct voice. This was followed by Arethena taking centre stage. She explained about some adjustment being required, and said that the vessel was not preapred to move forward at present, but that she, Arethena, was hopeful that things would improve soon, although 'soon' has no time frame and that expectation is inappropriate. The evening began as usual with a prayer and soft music. Fairly soon a new communicator came forward and introduced herself as Maureen. She said that she had lived in Harrington and her bithday was on June 9th. She died when she was 50 of liver failure brought about by heavy drinking. She drank to escape from her problems, but the problems were not solved until she passed and was then able to understand.

When Maureen left there was a short period of calm before Bernard came through. He is a regular communicator. He spoke of returning to visit his past life upon the earth and of learning empathy for those who were damaged by his behaviour at that time. He also learned to understand the reasons for his behaviour, and that he is now a more complete person as a result of this learning.

Bernard also discussed the progress and development of the vessel and of the learning involved for those within the spirit world with regard to psychic surgery. He said that in the big picture there are many paths towards the same goal. He explained that he did not know what his life purpose was, but since passing has become aware of the bigger picture and now realises why he needed to experience all that occured. It was all part of a bigger picture.

Bernard thanked us for allowing him to come here, as he had learned so much through the work. He was 'stuck' for a long time, and when he came here he was just beginning to move forward, but is now moving forward to even greater experiences than he could have imagined.

Finally Joseph came through and said that he has been working hard, and that the team now realise how important he is. This is typical of Joseph!

The regular medium was away this week due to working. As we had a new sitter with us, we stayed in the house for 30 minutes chatting and discussing Circle matters before then going into the Lodge.

Chris had decided to demonstrate Past Life Regression within the Lodge. Pam therefore sat in the comfortable chair within the open cabinet whilst the others sat around the room.

The regression process proceeded as usual, with Pam experiencing awareness of an altered states of consciousness. She first described herself as a child with long wavy hair, aged about 8 years old, known by the name of Mary Greeves. Another experience was as a child of similar age, with short dark hair, offering her name as Jane. However, these were not the focus of particular interest.

What occurred that was certainly interesting to everyone began when Chris became aware that some spirit energy was around Marsha. She therefore led Pam to 'rest upon the grass' before turning her attention to Marsha and asking her if there was anyone with her.

Marsha began to describe an elderly lady, and Pam (still within her receptive state) immediately joined in the description. The spirit person described and recognised was Pam's grandmother. Pam became very emotional as this lady held out an apple to her. As a child this lady used to pick apples with Pam. Marsha felt similarly emotional as the spirit lady 'met' her granddaughter.

This experience was appreciated by all. Chris finally led Pam back to 'the present time', and after checking that Marsha was no longer receiving communication, the circle was closed with the customary prayer.

Sitters and wtinesses: Chris. Margaret. Dave. Pam.

The seance began with the spirit team demonstrating some physical manipulation of the medium's body....through shaking her. This is 'their way' of trying to loosen her waist restraint which is something they have chosen to attempt.

After this there was some attempt made by Mike and Graham to continue development towards the enablement of direct voice. FC at this time reminded Chris that she had not set red light conditions, such as this demonstration requires. When Chris asked if she should turn to fairy lights off, leaving the red light on, FC said to leave it, but to remember next time!

Following this there was a period of calm. FC stepped forward again to instruct Chris to watch the knot of medium's waist tie. Chris became aware of some 'blurring' of her vision, as she looked at this knot. This phenomena she now recognises as being spirits manipulation of energy. She could not in fact see the knot move, although FC kept telling her to look closer, which she leaned forward to do in fact. After awhile FC withdrew and interestingly the medium herself moved at the same time as this. A communicator then came forward.

Margaret, this communicator has been through several times. Today she appeared happy and well. She described her home and her gaden, saying that she likes blue flowers, and now that her earthly condition is lifting (she isn't ready to leave it all behind her yet, as she feels it comforting and familiar to retain) she is enjoying doing some gardening and likes to sit in the sunshine.

As Margaret withdrew John, the spirit surgeon came for a chat. He told us that there were many spirit people present in the Lodge. Chris asked whether there was perhaps anyone who'd like to chat with us, subject to the spirit teams approval. A small elderly gentleman then came forward. He gave his name as Arthur, and his wife's name as Mary. They had many children. He said that he didn't know his age when he passed. He told us that he had lived in Mansfield, in a back-to-back house and had worked in the mines. His sons did likewise. Being a small man he was sent into the mines ahead of others, and it was a hard life. In response to questions from sitters he told us that his passing was peaceful for him. He had suffered a cough and this cough continued through his passing, and this was difficult for those who observed his passing. For himself though, he was calm and at peace and was not suffering discomfort. Since passing he has been living in a large house, which he feels he deserves as he worked hard enough on earth to earn this. He began to describe things further....but Bernard pushed forward instead....

Bernard explained that suffering and 'reality' as we know are not the same within the spirit world. That spirit people have work to do and problems to solve. However there are not physical discomforts. We become physically stressed and out physical bodies suffer. In the spirit world the problems are simply as they are, there is no suffering as a result of these problems. They are purely learning experiences.

When Bernard withdrew Joseph came forward briefly. He said that the medium had been difficult to work with during the past week, as she had too many earthly things to do and problems to work through. She had stopped them from coming forward! As a result the spirit team have needed to be less 'in your face' and more subtle about the way they work with her! They will continue to work with her, and hope she doesn't notice!

The seance closed with smiles all round!

Pink lighting conditions. 70 minute seance

Physical medium: Sandy (seated retrained by waist tie in open cabinet)

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Dave. Pam.

Shortly after the customary prayer had been spoken spirit began to physically manipulate the body of the medium through rapid shaking of her limbs and body. This was in a more controlled manner than witnessed on previous occasions, but the intent was the same, the team wished to untie the waist restraint through such vibrations. The result of this caused the medium to become hot, and the team then removed her jacket through using her own hands....but still with a large amount of physical control by themselves.

Following this demonstration the team moved to continue the developmental work towards the ennablement of independent voice communication. During this period many extended sounds were projected. Upon playback of the recording we discovered that in fact one continuous series of projected sound lasted for 55 seconds, with another being 48 and several others approximately 33 seconds. The medium isn't an athlete nor a trained opera singer!

When this display had ended a new communicator came forward. He told us that his name was Angus, the same as his father, but that he was called Joseph. When on the earth plane he lived in Scotland in the 1700's. He worked on the land, had a wife and many children. His wife died before him, along with two of their children, but they are all togethr again now. He lost the sight in one eye following an accident, and wore a monocle as a result of this. He had a happy life upon the earth plane and died of old age when he was about 70 years old. He is happy now also. He now lives in a pretty cottage, that is bigger on the inside than on the outside. He enjoys smoking his pipe and walking his two dogs. He thanked us for allowing him to visit and may come again.

When this spirit person left, John the spirit surgeon came forward for a chat. This was the first time he has been forward to speak. He assured us that he is keen to work here again when the medium has developed a little further.

Joseph came through finally, he too wishing to speak. He said that Grahm also wanted to come forward, but wasn't being allowed through today. Joseph chatted socially, saying that he hadn't realised that in fact he had not been speaking within the spirit world until others explained this to him, he had become used to using a form of telepathy. He said it was strange to be speaking again. He joked with sitters for a little while longer before indicating that the seance should close.

An enjoyable evening with some development.

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Margaret. Attia.

There was clear evidence of activity around and within the medium before the seance was opened with a prayer. The vessels chief guide, Joseph, came forward and through display of control led our interest towards the wooden box, that had been placed beneath the vessel's chair. This box appeared to come forward, although as there were no markings made of its exact placement prior to the seance, there was no evidence of movement having actually taken place.

Following this demonstration there was further display of spirit control as the vessel's body was shaken like a rag doll in an attempt to untie the waist belt. Upon inspection after the seance the knot was in fact found to have slid towards release, although release wasn't attained. This is an on-going experiment at spirit team's request.

When Joseph withdrew it was a pleasant surprise when Arethena came forward. Arethena is a spirt nurse who works within the medium's other Circle, Spirit Friends. She spoke of the medium's development and that progress is being made that will be of benefit to 'her' team. John, the surgeon, is impatient to re-start work (the Spirit Friends circle is currently suspended) but realises the essential nature of the developmental work that is being carried out. During her communication Arethena told us that the medium was too hot, and promptly tried to extricate her arms from her jacket. This proved to be difficult, so Joseph came through and shook the medium until the jacket fell free. Arethena was annoyed by this, but Joseph just laughed!

Joseph settled down to say that he had been to visit his past life on earth. That he had been to watch himself playing as a child upon the plains and had seen the horses and revisited this happy time. He explained that he had not presented himself as being a child, when showing himself to the medium. He had displayed himself as a man, as he wished her to trust in his abilities as a medicine man. He has since presented as a child, as she now trusts in his abilities. When living upon the earth plain he was always intended to become a medicine man.

Joseph went on to tell us that the spirit team have held a meeting because Graham was too bossy. Graham has been supporting the team in their work with the medium towards the development of independent voice. Joseph said that they have settled this conflict and Graham has agreed to be more of a team member. However....no sooner had he said this than Graham pushed forward, and a scuffle occured! Joseph 'won' and stated firmly that he is the boss!

Our next visitor was Bernard. He explained about a dilemma that he is to work through. He now realises since his progression into the spirit world, that learning must continue to take place. Through experiencing all things one becomes complete. Before he can move further forward, he must accept all that is himself. With this in mind he is now considering re-visting his past, in the same way that Joseph has done. Bernard's past was not happy however. He feels that he was not a good person, and he is feeling some trepidation about re-visiting the truth of all that is himself. He realises that he knew people when upon the earth plane, but treated them as objects. Now he has learned differently and will re-visit the past with the lessons he has learned since passing. He realises that this will not be easy, and that he caused much suffering to others. But he knows that he must do this in order to accept all that is himself, as he cannot move forward until this process has been completed.

As Bernard withdrew, Joseph indicated that it was time to close the seance, which we did in the customary fashion.

An interesting seance with much to consider.

NOTE: Attia has mediumship ability of her own and afterwards described Arethena as being tall and slim. Joseph as being muscular. Bernard as being square faced with rugged angular features. These descriptions do not conflict with descriptions previously offered forward by the spirit team themselves.

Clear pink lighting conditions. Approx 30 minute seance. (10.15 til 10.45am approx)

Physical medium: Sandy (seated in the open cabinet with a waist restraint at spirit teams request).

Sitter and witness: Chris

This seance was unexpected. Sandy arrived for a visit to see Chris and as it was obvious that the spirit team hoped for a seance, we simply complied! Soon after settling within the lodge and before the opening prayer was spoken, the team began to shake Sandy in an attempt to loosen the waist restraint. This is something they have wanted to demonstrate for some time and their persistence is clear. The medium spent a lot of time being shaken rather like a rag doll, before landing on the floor, and then being 'replaced' in the chair, before being thrown around again! At one stage the chair tipped over and the team had great difficulty in pulling it back to an upright position before replacing Sandy in the seat. The chair was then found to rock from side to side! This was due to the fact that Chris had rested a rubber ring on top of the base bar, and the chair was partially now resting on this ring! Finally, after several such chaotic displays they gave up and things became quiet.

As Chris watched she suspected that there was some form of energy manipulation going on aroudn the knot of the waist tie. This is best described as an area of 'blurred vision'. Chris doesn't trust this sort of thing and usually puts it down to her imagination, but at the same time, 'something' seemed to be going on. There was no actual evidence though.

Time passed and Chris's focus was taken towards the chair in the West corner of the room. Two large crystals had been placed upon the seat of this chair. The 'blurred vision thing' was happening again over there. Again Chris couldn't quite believe this to be so, but at the same time, knew it to be true. There was still no physical evidence to prove that this was not her imagination.

Finally....there was the 'energy thing' around the West side of the table that was placed centrally within the room, with 5 ping pong balls carefully positioned upon dot marks on the cloth, each ball covered by a plastic cup. After the close of the seance it was clearly seen that the No 4 ball was moved sideways and turned over.

In addition to this, remember the rubber ring that Chris had placed to rest on the base bar? At close of seance the rubber ring was seen to be in place just as Chris had first positioned it.

This seance proved to be particularly interesting to Chris. During the period of the seance, she had been greatly confused by the energy 'perception'. Due to her confusion FC came forward to assist with her process of understanding. Through some complex 'telepathy' Chris came to understand that the energy manipulation which enables the movement of objects, is something akin to how flicker-books work. It's a 'perception of movement' issue, a 'perception of vision'. Things aren't picked up and moved in the same way as they are here on earth. This simply doesn't quite 'fit' with the present laws of physics.

Final note: Joseph (Sandy's chief guide) mentioned the presence of a special guest within this seance and FC would like this presence to be acknowledged, even though we prefer not to name them for hope of further confirmation. Thanks.

Red lighting conditions. 35 minute seance.

Physical medium: Sandy

Sitter and witness: Chris

This was an impromtu seance as a result of Sandy feeling that her spirit guide Joseph wished her to sit. As usual we do our best to support his request.

Sandy was seated in the open cabient, restrained within the chair by a tied belt of the type worn for Judo. Within the last seance the spirit team tried to undo this tie by manipulating the physical body of the medium. The same was clearly their intent today.

The medium was 'thrown around' and the tie worked loose. Several times within this demonstration the body of the medium became unclear to view. This is best compared to when a hand is shaken loosely, it become s ablur. The vessel's whole upper body was shaken in this manner. We had failed to remove her wedding ring, which is a tight fit and during this time the ring flew across the room and hit the wall on the opposite side, before falling to the floor. Three such attempts were used to release the belt, which in fact remained tied, but with the knot left towards the far end of its length.

Clearly Sandy's spirit team are determined to demonstrate their ability to release the tie completely as part of her development. Sandy, as with most medium's doesn't doubt the ability of those within the spirit world to communicate, but again as with most medium's she does doubt her own abilities.
Their present demonstrations are beyond her control and she is aware that they are indeed working with her. It's a learning curve : )

This seance replaced the usual Spirit Friends evening seance. The alteration was made at the Spirit teams request earlier in the day.

Red lighting conditions. 70 minute seance.

Physical medium: Sandy seated restrained with a waist tie within the open cabinet.

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Pam. Dave.

The evening began with the customary prayer being spoken. Before the end of the second piece of music it was apparent that some development towards direct voice was being displayed. Deep tones and extended sounds were clearly heard. Various personalities appeared to be present and working with this. Chris identified the presence of both Graham and Mike. Mike acknowledged Chris's recognition at one point.

As the demonstration came to an end there began some shaking of the vessel. This appeared at first to be 'normal' shaking, as if the vessel and the chair in which she was seated was being shaken. Her feet were not touching the floor however, so the shaking appeared to be slightly unusual, in that it appeared unlikely, if not impossible to recreate.
The strangeness of this appearance was still being considered, when the shaking started to take on a 'life of its own'.

The shaking continued and excelerated. The vessel was no longer of physically firm appearance, but looked like a rag doll being tossed by a large hound. Chris felt reassured that all was well despite this, and felt no alarm. Dave felt some concern, but was determined to trust in the spirit team and Chris's experience as circle leader. Pam was frankly feeling concerned for the vessel's safety and well being. The rag-doll display continued until Chris heard a slight change in the breathing of the vessel and decided to ask the spirit team to step back a little. This request was acted upon immediately, and the vessel was returned to her 'normal' state. She appeared relaxed and unaffected by the experience.

In fact after the seance Sandy described being aware of a feeling rather like shivering, and she was also aware that she was moving within the chair. She was totally unaware, and very much surprised (in fact somewhat disbelieving) when the three witnesses described what they had all seen clearly.

Following this demonstration a new communicator came forward. He didn't give us his name as he said that it is unimportant. He told us that he'd lived in Holland and had been a baker. It turned out that he had, as a boy, put bread into the ovens. He worked for his father. They had lived in a small village. He 'faded' away before being able to give us any further information. Joseph then came through to indicate that it was time to close of seance. Just before closure Joseph indicated the belt tie that had been tightly fastened around the medium's waist. The tie was loose and almost undone. It is a cotton tie belt, as used for judo, and is not easily slid undone.

After close of seance Chris re-tied the belt and Sandy pushed against it, shaking her body to the best of her ability at the same time. These movements caused the knot to tighten. Following discussion later we all decided that the limpness of the physical body had eased the pressure placed upon the belt, and that this caused the belt to be shaken without pressure, which was likely to loosen the tie and cause it to become undone (had the shaking been left to continue). This would effectively have enabled the release of the vessel from the chair. We currently feel that this might be the way that such demonstrations are carried out within blackout seances. There is of course no confirmation of this, and no way of knowing whether we are on the right track! It's a very interesting subject to consider.

Of course, upon further reflection, this theory totally fails to explain, in any part whatsoever, how a Medium can become released from the chair, whilst leaving the waist tie tied firmly in place...which is a phenomena demonstrated repeatedly here within the Spirits Aloud circle.

Those having enquiring minds, may enter this experiment in order to discover 'what is possible', and driven by such enquiry find themselves faced with further and further anomalies. The seance's here are of endless fascination!

Yet another interesting very evening, with much to think about. A delight for the mind! Special thanks to Sandy for enabling this phenomena to become witnessed. Thank you to her spirit team for putting their efforts into this demonstration, for keeping her safe, and for responding to my given request for them to withdraw from the experiment due to our conern. We all feel reassured now, and are better-prepared for next time!

Sitters and witneses: Chris. Margaret.

The seance began rather strangely. We are used to Joseph's presence, but instead the medium sat quietly as the energies settled around her. We weren't left in doubt for very long however. As we watched changes relating to the demonstration of transfiguration were taking place. Both Chris and Margaret were suprised at the different faces that appeared in quick succession. One made an emotional connection with Margaret. Another appeared with such clarity that Chris 'forgot' that the sitter within the cabinet was Sandy.

Following this demonstration, which continued for about five minutes in silence, the sounds relating to the development of direct voice became apparent. Graham, one of the spirit team, was insisting that the vessel's mouth remained closed at this time. Through witnessing changes in the vessels physical appearance it became obvious that Margaret (a visitor from the spirit world) was wanting to communicate but was unable to do so due to this pressure from Graham. As a result, after awhile Margaret gave up trying.

When Graham had withdrawn Bernard came forward to explain that the spirit team would be holding a conference. He said that Graham considered himself to be important, but that he was actually an important part of a team and needed to appreciate the needs of others. Margaret had a right to come forward, she has needs that shoudl not be ignored. Graham's restriction caused her a problem and she didn't deserve this. There would be a conference.

As Graham withdrew Joseph came forward to indicate that the red lighting should be changed. Shortly after this he indicated that it was time to close the seance.

An interesting sitting, with much food for thought.

May 8th

Physical medium: Sandy (seated restrained by waist tie in open cabinet)

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Lynne. Margaret

The room had been set with a central table, having Scole dome beneath and a cloth to cover table to floor. On top of table five numbered ping-pong balls had been carefully placed on dots drawn on the table cloth, and covered by opaque cardboard cups.

The demonstration began with Joseph being present, with other spirits evident through a blending process. Mike came forward and developmental demonstation to the advancement of direct voice was apparent. The voice/ sound tone being again deep.

Graham came forward to communicate. He spoke with some precision and looking around the room (with the vessels eyes closed) stared directly at each sitter in turn and politely enquirng "What is your name?" to each. He responded with "That is good" upon receiving our replies.

Several times during the sitting Chris queried whether some transfiguartion effect was occuring, but without two witnesses confirming the same phenomena this was discounted. Likewise Margaret saw a blue glow, that the other witnesses failed to Margaret has reported seeing the same phenomena previously, around the medium during trance progression, but to date this has not been confirmed by a second sitter.

It is our Circle's policy to remain clear minded and for all phenomena to be discounted as a proven reality unless seen, felt or heard by at least two of the witnesses at the same time.
Luckily most phenomena here is witnessed by all those present.

When Graham withdrew, Joseph returned for a short time before Bernard came forward for a social chat. He spoke of his personal progress and development since first taking steps to communicate with us. He spoke of how John has also progressed in the same way, as others have. Chris suggested that perhaps others from the spirit world may be enabled by the spirit team to come forward, if this aids their advancement through understanding and experience. Graham replied that this would be considered. He said that the Team are learning and are making changes appropriate to their experience.

The seance drew to a close soon after this. The ping-pong balls had not moved on this occasion, nor was any other item apparently out of place.

An interesting seance, with progress clearly being made.

May 6th

Another impromptu seance! Chris had been away for the greater part of last week, so Sandy's guide Joseph was keen to sit again. As the second piece of music closed sounds relevant to the continuing development of direct voice were heard. This time the demonstration took place for the most part with the medium's lips closed. A few clear words were also heard, rather than the usual 'sound range' being trialled.

During the second part of the seance tranfiguration phenomena took place, with several different faces flickering across the medium's own, in fact making her own impossible to see. It has been witnessed on previous occasions that Mike (the medium's brother) has impressed his face upon the medium in this way, but until today no other face has been seen.

One of the faces seen most clearly today seemed to be of an elderly lady, with a long nose and rounded chin, thin lips, rather a square face, with short gently waved fine hair. Chris felt that this may have been the lady who came forward last week, but this is cannot be verified. For further information about this lady please see:

Towards the close of the seance Joseph returned briefly to say that the transfiguration phenomena was enabled through the use of ectoplasm.

Red lighting conditions. 90 minute seance.

Physical medium: Sandy (seated, with waist restraint, within the open cabinet)

Sitters and witnesses: Chris. Jon. Margaret.

The seance room had been set up with five upturned cups placed beneath the medium's chair. In the centre of the room the Scole dome was placed upon the wooden floor. Around this four upturned cups were carefully placed, each with a numbered ping-pong ball beneath.

The seance began as usual, with Joseph's presence being immediately apparent. As the second piece of opening music ended the Spirit team, specifically Graham and Mike, began to work for the development of direct voice. Part way through this work the vessel's arms and legs were shaken violently. We understand this was to raise her temperature so as to best support the work that was being done. Interestingly, aside from the variety of sounds being demonstrated throughout, several times during this experimental work there was a male face seen to be overshadowing that of the medium.

At the same time as all this was all going on, it was apparent that Becca, a spirit child, was attempting to untie the cord that Chris had tied tightly into the medium's hair. Kristian, Becca's younger brother, was within the room for part of the time, trying to move the cups.

The demonstration of direct voice development continued for a good part of the evening.
When this finally came to an end Joseph indicated that clear lighting conditions should be restored. At this point Bernard came through. He complained about the change of chair, as the medium had been provided with a more comfortable one than usual. Bernard wasn't happy with the cushions, nor with the height of this new version.

When Bernard withdrew Joseph came forward to communicate with us. Whilst responding to our questions he became distracted by Becca still playing with the medium's hair tie and complained that he had lost his train of thought as a result! Jon asked Joseph questions relating to his working relationship with the medium. Joseph explained that he had been with her for many years, but that she had been unaware of his presence until recently. Joseph described them as being 'as one', but each with their own personality. This was certainly interesting.

At close of seance, after the prayer had been spoken, we all examined the upturned cups. We then saw that the ping-pong ball with the number 4 on it, that had been placed beneath the cup nearest to the West corner of the room, had been moved by 45deg. All the other balls were exactly as originally positioned. No-one was seated in the West corner, all sitters were sitting in chairs placed in the North and East of the room, which offered clearest view of the cabinet area. The cabinet itself being placed at an angle within the South corner.

A very interesting evening with much progress being evident.
